Cons
No joined up thinking
Lack of strategy
Discipline/process gets in the way of innovation and growth
Parochial group - still very SA centric despite what the RSAs think
Advice to Senior Management
Look outside your business for a change
Pros

Cons
Dying market for high end hand tools
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to employees
Pros
Anglo has a value driven culture that it is in the process of embedding in the organisation. I am attracted by the mix of challenges from those of large capital investment projects, sustainable development and focus on safe operations
Cons
For someone with an aspiration of a general management position, a challenge for major minors is there are limited opportunities to gain experience on smaller assets and therefore progress towards managing large assets or companies.
Advice to Senior Management
Communication is not a strong point at Anglo. There has been a significant communications surge during the current restructuring process however it has still left many people further down the organisation feeling confused.
Pros
Good opportunities to travel, see a considerable range of different projects, work with a wide range of people and cultures. Good opportunities to direct your own Career
Cons
Salaries relatively low in South Africa compared to international salary scales. Your career path is of your own design, don't expect the company to design it for you. Some positions still filled on a first come first served basis, not always the right person.
Advice to Senior Management
Needs to provide more information to middle management of the directions and goals of the company. Information tends to be upward migrating only
