Generally a good place to work, with its frustrations

Finance Manager (Current Employee) London, England (UK)

ProsGlobal, diversified company with opportunities for a varied and international career.
Strong focus on safety and communities.
    Generally competitive compensation.

ConsComplex and overly bureaucratic, frustrating the ability to get things done.
Little penalty for failure, meaning that poor quality work continues - focus on communications over genuine results.
Limited HR competence, even by the standards of multinationals.

Advice to Senior ManagementSimplify the business and reward success / penalise failure.

Lots of opportunities for impact. Interesting for career development.

Global Supply Chain Specialist (Former Employee) Santiago (Chile)

ProsOne of the biggest natural resources companies in the world. Lots of opportunity for career development and mobility in the organization. Present in all continents.

ConsToo bureaucratic, but this is a problem of all the biggest companies out there. It's either bureaucracy or company size...
The industry is reluctant to innovations given the huge focus on production.
Pay could be better; I think they should have a higher variable pay with a proper HR mgmt system.

Advice to Senior ManagementHear more feedback from the bottom of the pyramid; these are the people actually running the mines and they have a lot to say. Talent attraction could be improved.
