    Pros

Understanding of Family situations, am able to take off time I need.

    Cons

Seem shady about spiff bonuses, company doesn't always report what we sell correctly. Chain of command seems very extensive, and often have to jump through many hoops.

    Advice to Management

Be there as a liaison for your employees, not as someone that pushes back with everything we come to you about.

    Pros

The Company WAS a good place to work. Autonomy, attainable goals, support. But, most of that is gone. Salary is slightly below avg, work minimal/no weekends.

    Cons

AHI is rooted in blue collar tradition but trying to be a big player. The two cultures clash & cause problems. Many people in mgmt are working hard to make jobs for themselves in instead of handing business. Senior mgmt is disillusioned at how local operations run. So, they take the bits & pieces & blow out of proportion to try to make local staff look bad. There is a lot of back room conniving & nothing reported out of the local facilities is supported by Regional mgrs. Mgmt @ regional levels are competent but lack the ability to reach their objectives because they are too focused on interfering in local branches instead of supporting local branches. The company values are great, but regional managers hold local managers to a different standard than themselves or local staff. It's a pressure cooker painted with pretty colors.

    Advice to Management

Let local branch managers run their operations. Either be the Company from which it came OR cut all ties and be a people churn. Really, there's not much advice to give...it falls on deaf ears above the local teams. Really, the problems are in the regional ranks...not local, not executive.

    Pros

The warehouse employees work well together to get the job done, the pay is okay, benefits are good and hours were good

    Cons

Fired 2 days before Christmas..The big problem is that like every other company, the higher tiers in local management (Ocala Fl) have 2 sets of rules, ones for if they like you, ones for if they dont', such as breaks, some are allowed 20-25 , allowed to work on their personal vehicles on the clock, make personal phone calls while working, all against company rules and with no reprimand. They also tend to hire friends of the managers before they look for qualified people. Personal accountability is non existent, and bonuses earned by employees are held on to by the Company, and mysteriously disappear. They also like to understaff in positions, using 1 person in areas that need 2 or 3..They also like to alter time cards due to their rule of No Overtime, but stay late in order to finish the job

    Advice to Management

I would seriously take a look at the Management team you have in place of the warehouse..Instead of coming to Ocala and listening to the management, spend some time talking to the people that really care, and that's the workers. There is a major lack of respect towards the warehouse manager and Building manager due to the continued lies and favoritism that is shown to certain individuals, due to their off hours relationships with management. There are people there who bust their butts, and are usually in the office getting lectures, and others who are milking the company and in the office talking , instead of doing what they hired to do, and that is work

    Pros

There are a few experienced employees that are sprinkled throughout this company that have excellent work ethic and that respect and appreciate the customers and fellow employees, regardless of the negative environment they continue to do the right thing.

    Cons

The company has hired too many inexperienced managers that have been given the power to make changes based on what benefits them on paper rather than the company as a whole. This has resulted in an abundance of managers that rule by fear instead of support and guidance. They are held to a separate set of rules, they are allowed to verbally and mentally abuse employees and this abuse of power is being ignored/supported by HR. Most managers come and go as they please without any communication. Emails are ignored, important information not being communicated. This has resulted in a "every man for himself" mentality. When a problem arises or a goal is not met the managers magically appear to place blame and criticize. Policies and procedures are being created based on what is best for that department regardless of the impact on the customer or profitability. It is apparent that decisions are being made to make the company more appealing to potential buyers. This company can only be compared to an old sick dog that needs to be euthanized.

    Advice to Management

Show up! Be the example not the exception....OR pass out the severance checks!

    Pros

Flexible schedule, most people are great to work with, training opportunities. Competitiveness and desire to evolve and change with external forces.

    Cons

Unfortunately, executive management stifles company growth and innovations by not actively listening to lower level employee feedback.

    Advice to Management

Cherish the feedback and ideas you receive from your employees. Otherwise these employees take their ideas elsewhere.

    Pros

Medical benefits are decent and company offers a good PTO package. Company also offers paid time off for major holidays. I appreciated working for a company that followed through with annual reviews. Annual reviews allowed for manager feedback while establishing goals and rating performance. These were a plus because they provided feedback on what areas I was strong and helped to identify areas that need improvement.

    Cons

PTO is all-encompassing so expect to use it if you're ill or have a death in the family because there is no separate bereavement or sick pay. The work culture in the Greeley corporate office is very dismal. There are no off-site team building activities, no company picnics or Christmas parties. It's very much put your head down, do your job, and don't have any fun doing it. Pay is not great, but there is opportunity for an annual pay increases.

    Advice to Management

It would be nice if managers were more employee centric. Of course, the culture seems to flow from the top down. I think the company should drop the 'good ol boy' mentality and take a more progressive approach. I personally think they will have trouble attracting and retaining new talent if they don't change with the times.

    Pros

Good inside and outside reps that like to team up and collaborate efforts. Insurance, 401k benefits are decent.

    Cons

The company is positioning itself to get bought! All levels of middle and upper management have no clue about animal health distribution. Their thoughts and ideas of doing business is more like wishful thinking and finally implemented way after all the competition has the business. Their website is below par, salary a joke, policies make it hard to do business, focused on large animal and not the higher profit companion animal, have a bad reputation among vendors and other distributors, and last but not least, management are narcissistic power mongers. The company blames the reps for their own inadequacies and takes no ownership or responsibility for why accounts don't like or want to do business with AHI!

    Advice to Management

If you dish out enough crap, you're eventually going to step in it yourself deservedly!
