I have been working at Animas (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I would like to start by saying that I wouldn't be caught dead wearing or using any Animas product. Having seen the trauma that these pumps go through to get out the door, it's really not surprising that we have so many pumps being returned. The blasé attitude of the engineering team is appalling. The coordination, or lack thereof, of work between departments would be hilarious if it weren’t so sad. Those individuals at middle management or higher are delusional. The willingness of my supervisor to allow the work of others to be dumped on me is disgusting and I feel I am being penalized for being an efficient and dependable employee by having to do the work that no one else feels like doing. This company is already swirling around the toilet boil and it's only a matter of time before we go under.

    Cons

For some reason I choose to participate willingly in the debauchery that is this company; A company that is ruled by fear and governed by childish bullying tactics. The sheer ineptitude of the management team is staggering. Talented, hardworking, and dedicated individuals are repeatedly passed over for recognition. At the same time those individuals who are advancing within the governing structure only do so due in part to an uncommon sycophantic ability; an ability that seems to be very common for Johnson and Johnson.

    Advice to Management

Higher levels of the management team are so far out of touch that they may never truly understand how this company operates. They are soothed and coerced by their lieutenants into thinking that everything is right and fine. This company has become poisonous. It has become a detriment to the mental well-being of the individuals who are unfortunate enough to return every morning.

  2. Not for everyone

I worked at Animas as a contractor

    Pros

Because it's a J&J company, there is a larger network you can be a part of.

    Cons

Even though it's a J&J company, it's still a smaller company. It really depends on your preference and the environment you enjoy working in.

  3. The company is imploding

I have been working at Animas full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits for manager level and above are nice.

    Cons

You have about a 30% chance of being laid off each year.

    Advice to Management

Figure out where you want to take the business before reducing staff. Stop outsourcing core competencies.

    Pros

New Site Manager is trying to improve things

    Cons

They have leads and backup leads giving orders to people with far more knowledge and experience.

    Advice to Management

Put the people with the knowledge and experience in charge. Not people who have been permanent a year or less and have a limited background.Clean house of the people who are a cancer to teamwork and gang up on the good employees

    I worked at Animas full-time

    Pros

Some good people and pretty good benefits

    Cons

Below average pay for most employees. The arrogance of some in middle and upper management . They let there egos and friendships get in the way of managing the company fairly. I have seem them destroy lives and careers of people who didn,t bow to them.Causing some good people to move on(including me) and some current ones to dread everyday they worked there. They will belittle you If attempt try to make an improvement they don,t agree with

    Advice to Management

Bring in people and advance people on there accomplishments. Not because they tell you how wonderful you are.

    Pros

johnson and johnson subsidiary. good product my particular colleagues were good to work with work/life balance achievable with time management skills

    Cons

not the most competitive compensation package and bonus structure was less than my last company not great benefits, considering who parent company is senior management ineffective and often unqualified for their respective positions

    Advice to Management

Give clear information to employees. instead of talking about transparency, actually practice it! Clear out the unqualified and outdated management and actually appoint some people with experience in the industry of the division in which they are working.
