    Pros

Co-workers are like family. Career path opportunities are very good. Flexible work hours, decent health benefits. Bonus plan is okay, should be paid quarterly.

    Cons

System improvements, need to better in line with today's tech savvy world. Improve training, pay structure is lower than industry and competitors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need more knowledgeable strategic focus on how to work more efficiently, take away redundant reporting.

    Pros

Relative job stability. If you show up everyday and do what you are supposed to, you'll have a job.

    Cons

The management is out-of-touch with what's going on. Extremely management-heavy corporate structure. Beware of micromanaging and IT monitoring of resources.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your employees are your most valued resource. Treat them accordingly.

    Pros

People are great to work with. Opportunities to grow within the company.

    Cons

Work-life balance is sometimes hard. Their pay seems to be below market. Sometimes overworked. Turnover can be high.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Looks good when you first join. Nice offices, nice people to be around. Clean place. Company is making money. You get exposed to many cultures. Good location.

    Cons

Low pay, fake promises, pretty on the outside, nasty on the inside. No motivation to work hard. They don't listen to ideas. You become complacent

I worked at Anixter International full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The people are great for the most part. The job was ridiculously easy and you could easily work here forever without getting any flack for basically anything.

    Cons

Way too many layers of management. The management doesn't care to make positive changes, they are simply happy with the status quo. They don't listen to their local managers. It is very much a "good old boy" network and, if you are on the outside, you literally have no chance of moving up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut the excessive layers of management. Listen to your employees at the local level. They know what they are talking about. They management should be completely cleaned out and they should start over.
