    Pros

Supportive Staff/ Management, Corporate creates great culture and training, family like atmosphere

    Cons

Attitude of staff can seem offensive and snobby to customers and prospective employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more helpful to employees and job searchers in your store. Don't assume that because you've never seen them in YOUR store before that they have never worked in retail. Be nice to all those interested in finding a job with your company. It's an honor after all to work for AT.

Horrible manager who was extremely lazy and didn't even care about her own store!! Never came in on weekends and nights and would never come to the floor.

I have been working at Ann Taylor part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Team members are great and truly care about one another. Very generous discount for employees. Clients are great and very loyal.

    Cons

Development, training and growth opportunities are subpar compared to other retailers. Work load is impossible with the amount of payroll hours allocated each week. Delivering the Whole Hearted Promise to each client should come first, but again with work load there is no time to focus on the Client experience.

I worked at Ann Taylor part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great Discount, loyal customers, and great team

    Cons

Overly picky and unclear management, company wants you to stay in color coordination with the store, needs an updated scheduling system, pay does not meet expectations for associates, and NOT enough hour to live unless your management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn that it takes time to immediately look like a brand, and please be more clearer if you want associates to color coordinate with the stores layout.

I have been working at Ann Taylor part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Flexible schedule, great co-workers, upscale brand

    Cons

Odd shifts hours, infrequent work schedule, last minute marketing and sales changes, antiquated computer systems

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The co-workers are great, but like any big corporation, upper management has their heads in a hole. The POS systems are completely antiquated, with no way of looking up a customer's prior transactions, no way to email receipts, no way to look up an item online for the customer, sometimes in-store and online promotions are COMPLETELY different, causing confusion for the customer and making us look like idiots at the store level. There is an over-emphasis on opening new credit card accounts, which is tied into the number of hours you are schedule or even if you are able to keep your job at all. SInce when did a customer opening a credit card become the definition of how well you are selling clothes? Management seems scattered, with a different idea on how the "sell the brand" every time you turn around. Now they are calling the store managers "SOCIAL DIRECTORS". What does that even MEAN in a retail setting?? How do you explain your job as the "social director" for the store? What is this, a cruise ship? It just seems so silly and takes attention away from the true focus, which is the clothes.

I have been working at Ann Taylor

    Pros

Ann Inc is a great retailer that treats its employees fairly. The company culture is centered around clear communication, positive support and encouragement. Scheduling and time off requests are respected, as well as flexible. Effective HR policies are practiced. There is room for growth and promotions, and if interest is expressed by the employee, clear coaching and guidance is received.

    Cons

No Employee exit evaluations are conducted
The POS system is not user friendly
    Complicated Employee Transfer Process
Payroll hours are often stretched thin

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to encourage, motivate, and elevate your associates. These are your most effective and important associate engagement tools. Positive energy is 100 times more effective, than any method of reprimand. Listen to every associate, before, during, and after their employment with ANN, to ensure continued growth, support, and development of the brand and company culture.
