    Pros

Good atmosphere with great employees who are dedicated to their job and the success of the company.

    Cons

Internal clients promising services/goods to external clients we could not guarantee. Incoming (new) management changing too much of what was a great company. Pay is horrible for Event Coordinator and very little recognition is given to those who are paid more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees - like they used to do. I don't believe the president/CEO really knows what is happening in the Dallas office.

    Pros

None. At the most, maybe as a entry level position after college.

    Cons

They post core values everywhere but live by none of them. Bully workers into unbelievable hours & force them to accept at most comp hours or face retribution if employees push for overtime. Hire relatives & their friends who get flex hours & better pay. Raises approved not seen for months by some but immediate for "favorites." Several in top management quit & cited disfunction & values of Dallas office but nothing is ever addressed. Consequently mid-level managers lead the same way & are constantly in "cover their butt" mode.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Re-read your core values & remember values trickle from the top down. Otherwise those values are just words in a wall.

    Pros

Good work life balance when you dont have an event. Casual dress and relaxed work office - except on days when executives are in town from South Bend - then the office is on high alert.

    Cons

When you have an event you are not paid for overtime and are considered to be on call and do whatever it takes to make them money but not compensated for it. You see all the money they make by doing all the accounting but little is given to managers who are seriously uncompensated - when inquiring about pay they equate it to working in the hotel industry. Handful of people who have been around are take care of and bully the rest of the newer staff - anyone worth keeping leaves because of questioning policies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You are not a big company - you are a small mom and pop business - when you start operating like a true company - following policies and procedures you will see your next period of growth. Dont recruit top talent if you are not willing for them to give input and examine new ways of doing things. Try living by your core values which you seem to preach.

    Pros

Not much, there are a few good managers but the good ones leave. The atmosphere is relaxed; including casual attire, which is a plus. This is a good first job if you are looking for something to put on your resume

    Cons

They keep vindictive and rude employees. The pay is not up to standard especially for managers as they do not get overtime. Also, during large events the hours are ridiculous. As far as career development, there is not much room for growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees and focus on properly training your staff. Listen to why so many people leave at one time. Do not hire or more importantly promote employees who do not have experience managing people.

    I worked at Anthony Travel

    Pros

Client list includes a great deal of top rate events. The ability to travel and see these events is a great job perk for those yearning for this type of experience. Exposure to numerous events also allows for nice networking opportunities in the sport industry. Overall the staff is very nice to work with.

    Cons

Most of the work staff is fresh out of college and not very experienced. This provides a youthful energy to the staff but the lack of experience can slow progress. Upper level managers are not given the freedom to pursue best options for their category. Sometimes too many resources are given to the "BIG" events (Final Four, College Bowl Season)... during which time other annual events are almost abandoned. Senior management tends to favor and promote unworthy individuals, seems to be based on relationship bias.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take emotion out of how to run the business and use a more rational forward thinking approach.
