    Pros

Working at Anytime Fitness was like living in a small tightknit community where everyone knew and supported one another.

    Cons

The only thing that could have been added to enhance great member experience would be a larger locker room.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I am thankful for professional and knowledgeable managers who saw the value in others and not just profit.

    Pros

Gain valuable experience in a variety of business tasks from management to sales. This would be a great management position for someone looking to make the transition from a personal trainer or sales consultant to a general manager position.

    Cons

GM's day is usually broken up into two shifts. Example: 8am-12pm and then 3pm-8pm. This schedule makes it hard to have much of a life. Pay, hours, and culture are determined by the franchise owner. If they pay well and have a great attitude, then this could be a great position. However, if you are unlucky like myself and find yourself with a franchise owner that is clueless when it comes to the fitness industry and mismanages founds, then it can make for an unpleasant experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take into consideration your employees quality of work, background, and experience when promoting, rather than how much time they spend working out with you.

    Pros

Good atmosphere and is fun getting to know and interacting with the regulars who frequent the location. Free membership is an absolute bonus. A lot of it is dependent on the owner of the location that you are working at.

    Cons

Can be tedious during the slow months and cold calling prospects can get awkward at times. Dependent on the size of the location, there might not be room for growth without purchasing the franchise outright. Compensation is also dependent on the owner and the location.
