Not the best, but certainly far from the worse. A great place to start a good career.

    Pros

Paid Holidays, Some Leadership is great. There are areas of opportunity. As a private company, the workforce is family like, and the employees are what drive the organization. Despite the negativity in some light, there is typically good things to find. Folks are truly caring for each other. Health care is relatively cheap, affordable, but the coverage it gives reflects on that fact it is cheap. Very handsome PTO plan. It's a medium-organization, and is progressive- things change quickly and sometimes a bit unruly. You are rewarded for your hard work, and dedication at APCO. Pay is not on the average for Altanta-Metro in all positions, so this makes a great place to take some entry-level experience and blossom it. Personally enjoyed my tenure before moving on to bigger things.

    Cons

Health Care Options, their cheap, and cheap for a reason. You are 25% likely to loose the doctor you have been seeing for years, as they will not be on the accepted list from the provider. Unfortunately, what is hurting the plan is it is post paid by the company itself off of profit. Which, is a cheaper option for coverage.. When you have some wide "health issues" it hurts everyone's pockets. Spousal coverage is planned to be removed. Some leaders, just don't need to be there. There is a bad habit of holding on to some leaders, when clearly, they are causing more harm to the organization and moral in worse case, they maybe operating at a capacity they cannot. This comes back around to the family atmosphere. This I believe has made the worse case for this organizations stagnate growth. Whereas the PTO plans are great, however it's nearly impossible to take a day off without having to report to work in some form or fashion. Workload is too high for more departments to scale back with a employee or two off.

    Advice to Management

Review some of the leadership roles, the company will perform much better once the blockades are removed, replace with experience professionals instead of some of the amateurs whom maybe took too big of a bite and are choking the goals. Otherwise the mentality in C-Level is on par with how it should me. Senior & Mid-Level needs the most work, Employees will shape around this change.

    Pros

Company Values are Good, Very relaxed and comfortable, High Demand, Open communications with leadership team. It's great for a very hands on learning environment.

    Cons

Company will change your "Title" and will change your salary. Leadership will "dangle the carrot" to get the most of out his/her employees; Either for hopes of a realistic growth financial, incentive, an appropriate salary. Which "may" come over several years. The company hires in and above. Growth is seldom and slow.

    Pros

Great benefits, a CEO & upper management who really care, large enough to be stable, small enough that you're able to make a difference, many people stay for 20+ years, opportunity to learn lots of new skills, you're allowed to laugh and have fun with your coworkers in a laid back environment.

    Cons

Sometimes people are allowed to stay employed long after they've proved to be a drag on the company, often times things can get so busy in certain departments that vacation time & family life can be pushed to the back burner. This is one of APCO's biggest problems. Also APCO does not tend to hire the most talented IT developers. They look for cheap rather than experienced which causes long project delays and a lot of work to end up on the shoulders of the most knowledgeable staff. Burnout is a problem in IT, though not in other parts of the building.

    Advice to Management

Monitor the amount of OT people are doing for you: the nights where they stay up till sunrise and then come into work the next day. Appreciate those people. Hire talented & experienced IT people who cost more but will stop long delays from happening on implementations. Have higher standards for products launched so there's not so much "clean up" after the launch.

    Pros

Laid-back, family atmosphere Supported in moves to different job responsibilities throughout the company Good compensation with pretty good benefits Always work to do so you feel useful

    Cons

Not a lot of room for growth through management opportunities There can be so much to do vacation time is an afterthought

    Advice to Management

Interdepartmental relations can be improved Vacation is not a privilege it is a right

    Pros

Good environment overall. Very casual. Most of the people there have been around for 10 + yrs and you can tell it has worn on them. Most people have gone 5+ yrs without raises but they are content and just deal with it. Execution is poor and management ultimately knows your replaceable and they approach everything that way.

    Cons

Extreme Gossip and HR control causes problems between employees

    Advice to Management

Stop encouraging tattletales and have people bring their issues to each other instead of a third party. It is completely unnecessary and information is skewed and misrepresented.

    Pros

Compared to other automotive service related jobs the pay, benefits, paid time off, and hours are very good.

    Cons

Because APCO is a call center based business poor attendance and tardiness is not tolerated. Only pre-scedueled time off is allowed. Therefor this can make it difficult because of the long commutes and traffic congestion in the Atlanta area. And to balance family issues that may cause a person to be late or have to leave work un-scedueled.

    Advice to Management

The Senior management at APCO is very good and I believe truly does care about all of the employees.
