I worked at Apex Systems as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Most recruiters are truly helping you. HR is good Benefits ok.

    Cons

Leadership not active. Some account managers only want to talk to you when it is bad news and ignore any concerns you might have. Benfits ok but costly. They transferred my recruiter to another account and I only found out two weeks later, without follow-up from the recruiters reaplacement.

I worked at Apex Systems as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

They definitely keep in touch with their contractors in the field. Constant contact about benefits and whats going on that effects their contractors.

    Cons

Not really a con, but unfortunately for me they did not usually place people in my field, so I was hired for a contract that was kind of a one-off, so once that came to an and, they were not able to place me on another contract. I would like to have stayed with Apex.

They do not follow up on their word. Read the contract well and only believe what is in writing in that contract.

I worked at Apex Systems as a contractor

    Pros

Very nice and professional upon hire.

    Cons

was verbal guaranteed to work at a min. of 2 weeks a month for a 3 month contract. That is a total of 6 weeks in 3 month. I gave up a full time job to work for a better company with better pay. They they did not work me (a group of us) till the 3 months was almost up, and only worked us 3 weeks total. But because of the clause in the contract another company can not work for 1 year from the last date we worked for Apex. So They will not keep their end of the verbal contract, but will not release us to work for any other company.

This was the biggest mistake of my life. I should have stayed with my full time job, and not took this leap of faith.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of your employee's better then this.

I have been working at Apex Systems full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    They post wages in time

    Cons

They exploit contractors and treat different contractors differently depending on the relationship with sales staff. Theere no raises and they will force the lowest rate and bill the highest. The health insurance was very bad. They raised the premium by 40 percent when Obama care went into effect. The support staff is disrespectful. Contractor support is a scam.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your policy is exploitative and the word is going round

I worked at Apex Systems as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Recruiter I worked with was great. Health benefits at the time were OK. Contract I worked on for them (we were subs to Lockheed on a fed contract) paid me weekly which was a big plus since my kids were very small at the time. Also at the initial 12-14 months I was there we were working like crazy so OT was paid without having to get pre-approval which was fabulous.

    Cons

Quite a few. Compensation was definitely not comparable to what co-workers who were hired by the prime were making. No PTO also -- I had to have my PM go to bat for me to even get 2 weeks off. Did not pay for fed holidays off. Was told I would convert to prime after a few months, it never happened and my PM never went to bat for me. Also in the 2+ years I worked there I never had a performance or salary review even after asking multiple times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mgmt needs to do a far better job of going to bat for their employees, doing performance reviews, salary increases, offering PTO as a standard part of package. Frankly I did NOT want to leave because I loved the challenges associated with the contract, but I had to because compensation was about 25% below what I got at my next job. Of course, the other thing too is that no one did anything to try and retain me either....
