Current Employee – been working at Apigee full-time for more than a year
Pros – Working for a smaller company can be invigorating, and Apigee is no different from other smaller companies in that respect. What's different about Apigee: this is a small company with really good "big company" genes. Smart, experienced people from major internet companies and enterprises have converged here, and contribute their ideas and experience. There's a good mix of young talent and energy, too. Surround all those people in a very collegial work environment, and the result is very special.
Cons – Somewhat geographically limited - In the US most people are in Palo Alto. There are customer-facing roles, which necessarily have to be remote. For other remote employees, engineers and others, if they are remote, they'll miss some of the excellent vibe.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep doing what you're doing! Oh, and we need another espresso machine!
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Apigee
Pros – Apigee is quick on it's feet and empowers it's employees in every possible way. They offer unbeatable benefits and encourage free thinking and allow employees to impact the whole company on a daily basis.
Cons – None so far - they are a great start up that really takes care of it's employees. Soon we will need a bigger lunch room table - a problem most companies in the valley would love to have.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the great work - everyone is fully engaged and having a great time doing things they love!

Current Employee – been working at Apigee full-time for more than a year
Pros – Better work culture than most other places in India
Good pay
reasonable to good technical work
good perks
US travel
better food than most other places in India
Cons – Underachieving engineering team
Too many people
the engineering team in India, gets direction from 2 VPs from US and one local VP
has 4 molecule leads ~ managers
5 product managers (before one was unfairly terminated and another quit)
2 project managers
1 release engineer
for about 15 developers and 6 testers.
political
There are cliques, most senior leaders have cliques.
wasted/non-performing resources
plenty of engineers are wasted or get away by doing nothing, because of leadership incompetence or favouritism
not enough pro-active investment in engineering practices/tools/culture
Big names and Big company culture
Have some some big names on board, who need people to delegate to, without adding commensurate value.
Shortsighted execution focus
Indian employees' stock allocation is a pittance compared to those in the US, on an average the new hires in India get less than 1/7th of peers in US and the leadership keeps talking about how lucrative the options will be. this is a hogwash.
Advice to Senior Management – incompetence/under performance runs through the Organization, identify, understand and fix this.
what got your here(fortune ?) wont get you where you want to go. Invest in engineering and innovation

Current Employee – been working at Apigee
Pros – This company is growing fast and treats their employees very well. The catered lunches are for socializing, not to keep you at work.
Cons – All startups expect you to put in a lot of work, which often includes weekends.
Advice to Senior Management – You are doing the right things, the biggest problem for the company will be keeping politics at bay as the company grows.
