    Pros

When I cook I get free food. Most of my coworkers are sweethearts and I can connect with them.

    Cons

Personal investment into the company is not rewarded and pay rates do no reflect the value of the employee. No active participation on managements part to help further employees.

    Advice to Management

Improve your emotional intelligence. Work with your peers not against them. Be a leader for once and give us direction.

    Pros

Fast money, as any serving job includes. The restaurant seemed to always be busy, beating out even similar franchises in the area

    Cons

overall very unorganized, poor management, and really late hours (closes at 2 or 3am every single night, even weeknights and Sundays)

    Advice to Management

Management needs to care more about its employees.

  3. I've worked at Applebees for about 4-5 years now, so I obviously don't hate it. I don't necessarily love either though.

    Pros

Interaction with the customers and bringing home cash everyday is the best thing about the job. It's nice to be able to bring home over $100 in a shift.

    Cons

There is a lot of drama with the management and staff. It's typically what you'd expect from a restaurant type atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

Give more bonuses for staff when they reach sales goals for the store. The happier your staff is the less drama you have to deal with.

    Pros

This is a difficult review to write because I initially worked at an Applebee's that cared about employee performance, employee happiness, and guest's experience. However, I transferred to another Applebee's and the managers are careless and want to squeeze by on guest's happiness and especially on employee's happiness. So for pros:

    Family oriented.
    Laid back atmosphere.
    Simple menu.

    Cons

Depending on your scheduled time you could possibly work until 2am or later.
    Chaotic kitchen.
    Low check averages.
Large amounts of messed up food (however this is based on the efforts of the cooks).
    Management can be careless.

    Pros

The tips can be pretty generous which is always a plus and you can meet some really good people on the job.

    Cons

There is no con as it is a job you have to know how to deal with everything it is a very reliable job at the end of the day.

    Advice to Management

The management is doing good and they do not need to change anything i my book overall they are good all around.

    Pros

everybody shares the workload so it never gets too stressful

    Cons

it is probably just my area but we bring in people who just don't seem to know a 10% tip is pretty bad. i think its because food is too expensive for what you get.

    Pros

Fun Work Environment, most of the people you will work with are pretty cool.

    Cons

Wage cap currently set at $10.00/hr. The amount of work you will do, especially in a busy area, is worth much more than $10.00/hr if you are good at it. Look for jobs at high-end restaurants and do the same job making more money.Little room for advancement

    Pros

It teaches you how to organize your time, and multi-task. I have never worked in an environment where every second mattered, and mult-tasking to such a degree was essential.

    Cons

The compensation in general as a server is low.

    Advice to Management

Inform the servers of upcoming changes to the menu before you walk out on the floor to find out by having a customer ask you about the new change.
