    Pros

The campus is very attractive, the onsite food is pretty good and the benefits are wonderful.

    Cons

Rancho Santa Margarita is only accessible by toll road and not very close to other cities. Because of the trade secrets and medical grade production standards security is something that takes a little getting used to as well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More than anything I would have grown a little more in my position if my managers had a more concrete idea of what an Intern's role is on a daily basis before arrival. There were days where I had to wait for my manager to return to proceed with work.

    Pros

Relatively good pay. Good atmosphere. Great location. Relaxed environment

    Cons

Other companies in the same industry pay a lot more. The pay could be better. But it is good for starting out your career.

I have been working at Applied Medical full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Young team, good atmosphere, many different departments with good variety of opportunities, relaxed dress code, minimal overtime required, work life balance is good

    Cons

Pay and benefits are below that of competitors, work can be a bit dull if you're not interested in the medical field

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put less emphasis on rushing projects through quickly and more on ensuring they're done to high standard. This will create better engineers instead of team members who just get good at pushing paper.

    Pros

Colleagues that make the daily grind bearable.

    Cons

Politics and more politics. Every advancement in this company is faced with how much butter you have applied on upper management rather than your personal performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open your eyes to what the culture of the work environment is becoming. The talented ones that present bold innovative ideas are leaving while the ones who keep to the status quo are the ones running the show.

    Pros

Nice buildings, can wear sweats pants to work, some coworkers are nice. Easy interview and hiring process, they won't do any drug test or background check for corporate employees.

    Cons

Family everywhere you turn! Not an equal opportunity employer. The friends of management and family friends get hired and promoted without experience/knowledge of what they will doing over people who work hard and have the knowledge and education. Raises are only for relatives and friends. Hotline is a joke because is not confidential and you will get fired for saying anything. People get fired for no reason or warning, if one of friends or family don't like you, you are out. Not stable place to work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please stop ignoring the issues and firing the wrong people. Listen and conduct your own investigation. A lot of team members are hurting at your company, reality is that we need a job and put up with a lot of abuse because we have seen other people getting fired for speaking up. Please give us better managers.

    Cons

Not much of interaction with outside of the organization to provide expert training in areas that the company can benefit from

    Pros

The company is a good stepping stone into the Medical Sales platform. You will gain valuable experience.

    Cons

The commission is not good at all. They finally gave a raise to the TMs, which is still less than the competition. The competitor is given a lunch budget and you will only be selling in the OR, where the Doctor doesn't want to talk. The benefits are not good and you lose money driving your own car.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide a budget to your sales people. Don't make them do presentations in front of everyone. Pay more!

    Pros

A place to start learning and create your resume.

    Cons

Low wages, Management problems, People kisses supervisors or management's butt, 401k comp match up is a woke

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When I first started working here I thought it would be a great place to start a career. A couple of years into it, my decision for this place changed. Under paid and tons of pressure. People always rat on you for no apparent reason just to get you fire. People drive 30-40 minutes to get to work for 9$-10$ an hour. After tax you basically won't get much in return. Management is a real problem at applied medical. You don't really know when they will fire you. When they do fire you, they won't give you a real reason, they'll just make up some none-sense. Applied medical hires people with no knowledge of what they are doing. Instead of promoting skill works within their company they go out and hire people just to retrain them. Skills & experience workers tend to get fired, and they kept the ones that don't know what they are doing.
