    Pros

People within the group were friendly. Company offered good benefits such as medical insurance. Location was right off the freeway and fairly convenient.

    Cons

There were constant rumors about layoffs. There was a lot of infighting amongst the various groups. Work pressure was intense at times involving long work hours.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

My direct manager and colleagues. Allowed to self manage. Good customers. Interesting technology and applications.

    Cons

Stuck in same role, no growth opportunities. Unrealistic expections from the top management regarding timelines and without proper tools. Very understaffed and mostly poor equipment and facility. To stock holder oriented so top share grantees can cash out, vs. growing organically and bringing all employess to share in success. Too much money paid for aquisitions and their staff. Way too much off-shoring of jobs, not cost effective as imagined. Little output from many less experienced overseas staff. RIF's made by dept. with no consideration of ability or opportunity abiltiy to do other work on other products. Steady pace of lay-off's at least twice a year in America. Racially biased hiring and ageism justified by elimination of work need, but actually due to higher-cost salary without understanding, realizing or caring of senior skilled efficiency in many cases. This is causing others to leave as they see how arbitrary the firing of skilled people seems to be.

    Advice to Management

Figure out who is really contributing, and don't just hire based on relationships instead of skills. This is mostly in reference to top level engineering managers.

    Pros

There are still a few good people working there.

    Cons

The senior management has managed to spend all the cash on hand and will soon be taking the company into debt. Avoid this company at all cost unless it's a last resort.

    Advice to Management

Resign and let some capable managers take over.

    Pros

    - Salaries are very competive.
    - Medical Benefits are good.
    - Some other benefits are below industry average (no 401K match).

    Cons

    - Not very many advancement opportinities in the USA.
    - Resources are strained, so each group looks out for itself (silos). No teamwork.
    - Lacks organizational values.
    - Has a tendency to move out the goal line for 6 months to one year on many of your restricted stock grants about one week before you are supposed to receive the shares.

    Advice to Management

    - Need to establish some organizational values.
    - Need to encourage and reward teamwork.
    - When you make restricted stock grants to high-performing employees for retention purposes, you should go through with the grants when the deadline arrives.
