    I have been working at Apptical part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Home office choice, Learning a lot of new things, Company legit & secure, I like the people I work with, decent money, ability to flex hours, Common sense job, Health insurance, Vacation, Well organized team, Advancement opportunities.

    Cons

    Must follow every detail so if you don't like attention to details and following rules carefully, this will not be a good position for you. The work has multiple guidelines and has to be done right every single time so this is not a job for those who are "free spirits".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I think you should have more "fun" at our group meetings. I know our work is serious, but sometimes it would be nice to let people joke a little and chit chat here & there.

    If you're desperate...
    Learn medical terms for future healthcare jobs
    Opportunites to be a part of extracurricular activites such as Employee Engagement Team
    Trade board (if you can't make it to work or need time off)
    Good feedback reports from managers about QA

    Cons

    Back to back calls, micro-managing management style, low pay, very stressful, Insurance agents treat you like crap

    Pros

    First-tier managers are nice to work with. There is very little stress involved in the job. Rarely have to deal with angry callers. It's steady work and the schedule is somewhat flexible, if you can find coworkers to trade or pick up hours for you.

    Cons

    Although they advertise that they offer "performance-based pay", this is false. Your pay will be determined by call volume and whether your schedule coincides with busy times. They allow you to shut off your phone availability during calls, then turn it back on, and this will let you work over 29 (part time) or 40 (full time) weekly hour limits. Basically, they are getting a lot of overtime out of people without having to pay more money.

    If your shift call volume is low, you will at least make whatever minimum wage is in your state. That being said, it's pretty hard to live off the minimum wage. When it's very busy you can make good money.

    Your only contacts and communication will be with your immediate supervisor team. There is no team-based culture in the company. There will be no promotions and no raises, apparently ever.

    This job is not hard, but you must deliver perfect customer service, no documentation mistakes, etc.

    Health insurance/benefits offered are insultingly expensive. Nobody who works at this company could realistically afford them.

    No paid time off, no paid vacation, no paid personal days. 10 unpaid days per year.

    Employees need to feel like they are part of the company, and deserve real "performance-based pay".

    Pros

    Work from home, flexible, stress free, but no money either.

    Cons

    Not paid for all the work you do. Lots of system issues, You are a free customer service rep to them basically. Pay has gone down not up. Too many employees taking call for the call volume!!

    Pros

    Great people to work with. Easy work from home job. Most people you speak to on the phone are pleasant. Easy to trade shifts with co workers.

    Cons

    If the call volume is low so is the pay. Some of the agents that you speak to can be rude or pushy but that is to be expected with any customer service job.

    Raises are important.

    Pros

    Work from home
    All major holidays off
    Ability to swap schedules with co workers if needed
    No sales involved
    Very easy job

    Cons

    Employer not upfront with realistic estimate of pay
    Pay discrepancies not followed up quickly
    No overtime opportunities
    Most time is spent(wasted)waiting for calls to come in to call center

    Inform potential employees of seasonal down times
    Pay needs to be more competitive
