I worked at ArQule full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This was awesome working at ArQule, Inc. Such great people, lots of learning experiences and understanding employer.

    Cons

The only thing I could have done with out with ArQule was the 30 + minute commute from Salem, NH other than that it was a great life experience being with them for just under 14 yrs..

    Advice to Management

Just be up front with your employees and continue to be great.

    I worked at ArQule full-time

    Pros

Good benefits and flexible work schedule

    Cons

Strange culture / Very political / Silos / Valued outsiders more than long-term employees / Had to be a scientist for your opinion to count

    Advice to Management

Pick a direction and commit to it / Reduce the number of managers by about 50%

  3. My experience was fun, exciting, challenging early on but then got disengaged with how the company was managed and lead.

    Pros

In the earlier years there was promise and excitement. Young talented minds working together to create processes, systems and science.

    Cons

Lack of accountability. Lack of career development. Lack of Transparency. Managers who are unable to manager and lead. SENIOR MANAGEMENT!!!!

    Advice to Management

    Way too much to list!!!

I worked at ArQule full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

With this job market, working at Arqule bringing home a paycheck is better than being jobless.

    Cons

Factors other than hardworking were weighed. Very bad working environment and culture. I worked there for about two years and felt stressful everyday. Some manager's opinions superseded scientific rationales.

    Advice to Management

    Get less emotional managers.

I worked at ArQule full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule with minimal managerial oversight. Traditionally, there has been a great pool of people to work with. Location north of Boston is desirable and works well into work life balance.

    Cons

Underpay and under value key G&A positions. Solely focused on scientists and upper management. Key positions in upper management have been there a long time so not much has changed.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to see the value in your individual contributors and lower levels of management. Individual contributors are the life blood of the business.
