    Pros

Tremendous place to work, it is a growing company and the successes are many. If you work hard and do a good job you will be rewarded. They often promote from within. Good atmosphere and friendly environment. They put a lot of time and effort into their employees. From the CEO and down. Benefits are great for a small company, with 401k match, etc. Highly recommended place to work.

    Cons

It is a small company that is growing, to me that is a positive but some may want a bigger company feel.

    Pros

Hired out of college and used to get better job. Little to no supervision.

    Cons

Long drives to new locations at the last minute, no commissions were ever paid as promised, no contact from management or direction for long periods of time resulted in many misunderstandings

I worked at Arbor Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone seems to be friendly and helpful, get to meet everyone in the company and see how exactly everything operates when you visit the main office. Will provide you with everything that you need, computer, transportation, hotel, food expense etc...

    Cons

They train/feed you the idea that they want to mold you into a claims rep "the arbor way" because you're a fresh college graduate that doesnt have any old habits but will fire you on the spot without warning to replace you with someone from AIM because they have more experience then you. They will keep you around long enough to find your replacement, but if you're in an area with less competition then you might get lucky and have your pay check lied to you every other week.

Arbor Healthcare was a great company to work for until AIM became involved.

    Pros

Choice of either travel or staying at one location to work. Meeting various levels of management at hospitals for future positions. Networking.

    Cons

Base salary is nothing to brag about and commission is NOT paid as promised. When discussions do arise, the run around is given - this comes from EVP, Directors, etc. What it boils down to is, if you get it be happy but get used to living on peanut butter and jelly. All employees live on pins and needles and worry that they will be the next to get let go. This tends to happen if you disagree with people. 80% + turnover since AIM came to company Training is a waste of time and the trainer is not knowledgeable. Very difficult to get responses from Corporate when issues arise. Expected to give up you life to work this job. Respect is not shown!!!! Most of the people at the company came from our competitor AIM. They tell you how great it was and what they did. Arbor and AIM are two different companies but I do not believe they know how to separate the two. Positions are not posted within. All AIM people have the weight and receive all of the positions without others having the opportunity to apply if interested.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be a middle ground for the company. AIM runs the company and shows disrespect to the original Arbor employees by talking about past and present employees. When a question arises in the field an answer is needed. Ignoring inquiries only causes good employees to turn bad.

    Pros

Put trainees up in Hilton Garden Inn, co-workers in training very willing to help you, Howard the owner is a very nice man. If you want to learn about medical billing, credit balances, balancing, or meeting people within a hospital for a future job or contact, this would be a great entry level job to pick up the skills needed. If you are from AIM, all of your friends work there and you will fit in well. If you can make it past six months, you get a $5000/per year raise.

    Cons

All of the management spends a lot of time talking about how the they used to work at AIM/Ingenix/Optium Health, but then they all seem to have a bad taste in their mouth for it. But then, after bad mouthing their old company, try and teach you how to build relationships. If you worked at AIM, you will find yourself at home, since that's where all the new employees come from. Seriously, barely anyone has been there longer than a year due to high turnover, and the people there now came from AIM. Health Insurance options are unaffordable if you have a spouse or family on a salary. PSA's talk about the commissions are supposed to be paid out, but they seem to have reasons why it cannot be paid out and drag out paying commission. PSA's took a pay cut when they hired new management, from AIM, where else, are not happy and very worried their jobs will be replaced by people from AIM. The main trainer, from AIM, teaches from a book, gives you word problems from a book, but then when the practice claims are handed out, you have no idea where to start, and she just refers you to the sheets in the book. I know of a new person who stressed herself out so much she got sick over it all. When other new people asked her to teach from the claims or to partner with established reps to learn their methods, she refused to allow it. Every process is in the process of being reviewed or being changed, so you never know what is really going on.

    Advice to Management

Health care options should be more affordable, stop talking about being different from AIM when all you do is hire people from AIM who think exactly the way you do. It's not different, its a different company with the same people. Find a different trainer or actually have management sit in a training session and see what a train wreck it really is. Reassure your PSA's they won't be replaced with your fellow co-workers from AIM.
