    I worked at ArcSoft full-time

    Pros

They have world leading imaging technologies for B2B. You can learn a lot regarding imaging, video, and mobile camera system.

    Cons

Benefits were not great. Needed to stay late to communicate with oversea teams.

    Advice to Management

    Improve the benefits

I worked at ArcSoft full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Established revenue-generating business model - Company BBQs

    Cons

    - Lack of innovation - Slow-moving, mid-sized company. Newer, smaller companies are more successful, in less time. - No career growth - Most development and production is off-shored to China - You can find comparable or better products for free

    Advice to Management

Reinvest in the value of people (your employees). It shouldn't be enough to just sustain a business that generates revenue on its own, through old OEM deals. You're being left behind by more agile companies. After 20+ years in business I don't think you qualify as a "startup" anymore.

I have been working at ArcSoft full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

they had an advantaged technology in imaging, have tried many alternative markets to capitalize on the technology, the technology team in China had developed leading edge imaging technologies in the past but how to capitalize it beyond the smartphone market?

    Cons

management, that is really just the ceo, is totally unfocused, no senior management supporting team, confusing office policies, no growth potential for the us staff (come to think of it, no growth potential for the entire company).

    Advice to Management

after about 20 years in business, it's probably time to sell off the technology, maybe even make a few bucks on the options, let's call it a day!

I have been working at ArcSoft (More than a year)

    Pros

The company has great technology and people. New blood in executive management are bringing some great ideas and energy to the company. Company is going through some really positive changes.

    Cons

Some unsophisticated and outdated processes and weird regulations. Doesn't pay that well. Old Chinese culture means work/life balance could be better.

    Advice to Management

    Pay me more.

    Pros

Smaller company. Great coworkers. Decent benefits.

    Cons

A CEO who has no idea how to scale. Upper management who believe they're gods.

I have been working at ArcSoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very smart people, hardworking and dedicated, interesting, fun and useful products, every day is different

    Cons

is a 20 word minimum in this space so I'm just going to fill up the space by saying that this is a good place to work! One drawback: the BART station is pretty far so you have to drive.

    Advice to Management

This office could really benefit from an interior design update. Such smart people such great products, but kind of a dull workspace. Perhaps it would help to open up the space to allow for greater collaboration/communication.

    Pros

Good relationship between department employees and their direct managers. Ability to move horizontally within the company. Benefits package is very generous. Montly luncheons and weekly breakfasts make for good employee bonding. Reponsive HR department. CEO is extremely friendly and respectful towards employees. Business casual attire and good company culture where everyone seems to get along and like to have lunches together.

    Cons

Some departments are not stable due to constant reshuffling/reorganizing of staff. Hopefully, they will work that out. Not much ethnic diversity. 90% of the demographic is Chinese. Few people are riding on a high horse. Departments are segregated and don't like to collaborate with one another. Customer service lines are always overflowing.

    Advice to Management

Teach departments the meaning of teamwork by encouraging them to work with other departments. Break down the walls. Hire more people to take customer service calls. Encourage higher learning to strengthen the knowledge of your workforce.
