Pros
Brand recognition
Interact with workforce from poland, romania, czech republic, france, luxembourg, india, venezuela, brazil, china... you name it
Very close to the world market movers
Cons
Still complicated due to $32B merger many years ago
Forced rationalization always comes too little, too late
Indebted company, "junk" status
Advice to Senior Management
Cut out some of the tectonic layers of non-operations middle management ("technical advisors")
Get rid of the centralized system for SAP administration and logistics chartering
Stop flooding the domestic US market with lower quality material
Pros
international experience in one of the biggest multinational companies
developing professional skills at good level
working in a team good professionals
Cons
Overall bad organisation in the company
No good communication between people
need to work overtime
not good HR communication, no regular team buildings
Advice to Senior Management
Use more software programs to facilitate work flows
Be more flexible in admiistration decisions and procedures
Develop better communication and teamworking within the teams

Stop looking at cost cutting and look at ways to increase revenue instead; your employees are your biggest asset
Pros
-People are nice to work with
-Polish are very professional
-business culture is very flexible
Cons
-lots of confusion within company because it is going through a restructuring phase
-if you came in for a specific position, you might not end up with the one you signed on to
-people are too busy to explain things to you so you have to ask specific questions
-training program not very good
-management is very hypocritical- they say they are open and you can talk to them about anything, but they don't like to be told that they are wrong
Advice to Senior Management
-find a balance between extremely flexible working culture and a more structured one
Pros
job opportunities
brand recognition
recognizes the importance of family and taking care of your health, generally fair with providing time off for health issues
Cons
Company too large. Senior Management does not make decisions unless approved by Management Board. Company appears to be micromanaged. Employees are quite dispensible.
Base pays are below standard. Arcelor type management changed drastically with Mittal merger. No where near the same company Arcelor was.
Too many changes take place without letting the first change take hold and see results. Employees don't know which direction they are going in.
Company still working out overlaping jobs from merger of Arcelor and Mittal
Advice to Senior Management
Stop micro-managing. Let Senior Management do the jobs they were hired for or get rid of them and save the company loads of money.
Listen to your employees - they are the ones doing the work and can give you a wealth of information and ideas. Better treatment of employees will make for a better company.
Pros
expatriation are widely available but locations are uninteresting. Opportunism may work short term. Steel is a great industry. facinating senior management
Cons
poor corporate culture. lack of social responsibility or committment. poor remuneration and bullied to accept salary cuts. untrustworthy company. positive impression happens only if company benefit from employee.
Advice to Senior Management
Good job to the senior management. facinating but followed by crowds of parasite. Change the corporate culture giving a benefit to indiuan passport. it will not work and kill the industrial tool.
Pros
It was challenging by developing & costing new manufacturing processes for new/different tubular products for the tubular/automotive industry. It was a comradary/friendly workplace where everyone was helpful with their input of experiences/information & know how when questions were asked... Everyone pulled together to move the company forward & meet its goals. It was an excellent atmosphere to work in....
Cons
The company went through many name changes & different management styles thus going in many different directions. Risks were not taken when they should of & opportunities were lost...This would of helped through these ecomomic times...
Advice to Senior Management
Remove the bully tactic & replace with more people skills. As well, better forcasting/planning with diversity of products away from the auto sector.
Pros
Large company that could provide opportunites if individual was mobile and willing to tow the company line as well as play along with the political games.
Cons
ArcelorMittal has become too large and no longer sees employees as individuals, but as profit generators. Company is very prepoccupied with numbers and revenues on paper and is failing to see some strategies that are staring them in the face.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the staff that are doing the work everyday and rely on their expertise to help with continuous impovment and efficiencies. Treat employees with respect and keep lines of communications open. Employees who have a clear sense of direction are far better at working with the company to acheive the overall company directives.
Pros
Large global company with global job opportunities.
Cons
Very lean organization. People do not have a lot of time to work on projects to improve efficiency and develop their skills.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in people. Pay competitive salaries; fund education and training.
Pros
Very successful Company
Good business leadership by Mr Mittal
Very global and diverse
Cons
Lack of autonomy, the roles are generally oversold and you will end up doing work below your skill level
Lack of feedback, there is little leadership in place, Leaders will duck difficult questions and not address performance issues. There is little priase given to employees. A culture of the very top people earning all the rewards.
Advice to Senior Management
Strat to practice what you preach. You must start leading
