Pros
Excellent Training Program for selling, leading and managing.
Cons
Onsite behavior, goals, standards and expectations do not consistently match those that are set forth from the company through meetings and training sessions.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep in mind that Archstone is your employer and that it is your responsibility to ensure that each site is a reflection of how Archstone chooses to conduct it's business. it creates alot of confusion when people act one way in front of higher level management and another way towards the staff.
Pros
Great benefits and knowledgeable leaders.
Cons
Lack of communication in regards to the future of the company and its employees.
Pros
Good Organization that operated with a good service platform.
Cons
Pay could be better for valued people.
Pros
Benefits are fantastic. Associates at sister communities are supportive and always available as a resource. Management is always willing to give you an opportunity to take on additional responsibility, you simply have to ask for it.
Cons
People that work for this company seem to really like it. This means that there isn't much movement in certain markets which results in having to spend extended periods of time in positions when you are looking to move up. This is a good thing though, I'd rather work for a company where upward mobility is stifled by a lack of turnover than one where management simply doesn't value its employees.
Pros
Archstone usually hires great people and the teams can be a pleasure to work with. Good benefits.
Cons
Salary could be more competitive.
Advice to Senior Management
Offer a more competitive salary package to retain good associates.
Pros
Great pay, great coworkers, fun work events
Cons
Work weekends, sometimes impossible expectations from management
Pros
They have great benefits. Some great co-workers. Fun Team events. If you enjoy change. It happens every day cause its all about the bottom line.
Cons
If you don't have a Four Degree you wont move up. No matter the Training and experience you bring to the table. Having worked there for Five years and upward growth felt like an impossible mission.
Pay is also below average compared to other REIT's.
Pros
Technology commitment, great time, comfortable environment, good benefits, hours are 10-7 so not to bad, off earlier on Sat and Sun. Rental discounts are great, but must move or reapply for regular rate if you leave the company. Assistance with purchasing uniforms.
Cons
low basic pay, out of date uniforms for office staff, black only suits, white shirts. need to look towards the future and get clothes that looks good, has some style and is not black. This is not an undertakers office.
Advice to Senior Management
Uniforms need to be brought up to date, all black does not look good on any woman or man.
Pros
Pay, rent deduction, easy work
Cons
Few positions available for advancement. There are not many options to choose from if you want to advance.
Pros
Good compensation. Fun job with lots of new people every day. They have very nice apartments, so it isn't too much of a challenge to lease them.
Cons
Very little feedback either positive or negative. Reviews are based on mystery shops and the shops are almost never accurate. I was there for 1.5 years and I was one of the longest in my position. Tons of turn over in their leasing position because they don't really give feed back, they just fire you if there is any question about service or performance.
