Pros
very nice working environment great place
Cons
long hours smells like gas and feet
Advice to Senior Management
keep up the good word
Pros
Good pay, excellent team, benefits, flexible work schedule, a lot of opportunities to advance.
Cons
Some managers have bad management style, a lot of duties and requirements, nasty customers
Pros
Professional growth. Opportunites and great benefits.
Cons
Long hours and sometimes extended away travelling.
Pros
The pay is good. The environment is relaxed. The hours are flexible, we have core hours of 9-3. We get a laptop.
Cons
They are currently outsourcing most of the jobs in my building. Eventually the building will be closed but its good for experience.
Advice to Senior Management
I am satisfied with management's hands off style. Employees work more efficiently when they are left with minimal supervision. When ever you do need help they are always more than willing to help you out.
Pros
great pay good all around
Cons
hard environment hard people to work with
Pros
Coworkers are great, customers were awesome, pay was okay, easy job with a strong emphasis on customer service and cleanliness
Cons
I was an assistant manager making salary. 50+ hrs minimum a week with no OT pay. On call 24/7. General manager refused to answer his phone when a problem occured at the store, so I would have to be at the store sometimes for 16-20 hrs in a day. No days off. No time for personal/family time. General Manager was clueless on how to do his job and did a terrible job at training employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Start paying Assistant Managers hourly, not salary. Train the employees correctly. Don't fire good employees because the GM refused to train them correctly.
Pros
Depending on your Area Manager, it can be great.
Cons
Four times a years, they check the store know as the 10k, it can be stressful. Customers are important, but depending on the area of your site there will be problems with your shink. Management doesn't listen to their managers about growing the business, so managers could care less. I heard from other managers, that management over the years were making it difficult for bonus to be reward. However, the site are sold and managers lost or quit their job for the horror stories working with a private owner.
Advice to Senior Management
Train managers to be owners and now just a common cashier who has a key to the safe.
Pros
Managers offer flexible work schedules and are willing to work around your school and personal schedule. The pay is competitive or above most gas stations.
Cons
Horrible training and employee respect. Management is uncaring and disrespectful causing team morale to be low. Employees are expected to do a lot of work while upper management does little to nothing. Management is only concern about stores looking good when they are expecting DM's or BP to come around to do inspections.
Advice to Senior Management
Management should be more caring and more concern about their stores and employers. They need to listen to employee feedback and want to make their stores look clean and nice for their customers. Management should ensure that all employees are on the same page with rules, regulations, ect.
Pros
some of the best reasons would be that you get to interact with a wide variety of people from a broad spectrum of the company customers.
Cons
downsides of working for ampm are that the work is very repetitive, and it gets old wiping the same counter every day.
Advice to Senior Management
I think the job would be more enjoyable with company advancements, and incentive bonuses for the average cashier, or new employee.
Pros
Good people, long term relationships, good place to start as a young professional.
Cons
Hard to move around or up, more workload and less pay compared to industry standards
Advice to Senior Management
Be real and get real, need to promote good people who knows what they are doing and want.
