Pros
I joined Arcot 2.5 yrs back. It has been an amazing learning experience for me. I grew from a core developer to developer + leader + analyzer + enthusiast within my first year. You get ample opportunities to work on different projects and always welcomed by people to give and share your knowledge about something. My expertise has grown from a mare front-end developer to a complete engineer with hand on experience on different aspects. It is the place to work with and I love it !
Cons
You find issues when people from such varied background and thoughts meet together. But those can be ignored if you have the right attitude. The culture is so nice that you will not feel down here anytime. Its great.
Advice to Senior Management
We Should Ignore the negatives and go along with the positves.
Pros
Pay is kind of ok.
Company is into good domain, but they are not doing anything good.
Cons
No work life balance.
Least opportunities for learning and improvement.
Employees not treated fairly.
Advice to Senior Management
Device career plan for employees.
Pros
A free lunch every day.
Cons
2-3 to a cubicle, dirty, cluttered. Focus is from one disaster to the next. Never time to plan. A lot of profanity in the workplace. No team work, a lot of backstabbing. A lot of lip service about doing the right thing but no willingness to improve.
Pros
Good work and has lots of learning avenues
Good product and associated domain and technology
Good office location
Good oppurtunities
Cons
No personal life. Long demanding work hours
Work envioronment is not good and no communications on the managemnet descisions
No HR team.
Advice to Senior Management
Improve on the employee and management communication
Have appraisal system in place
Improve the work conditions
Improve the HR policies
Pros
I'm the guy who had posted the earlier review with the title “It sucks to work here” . There I had mentioned there is no work at all, and all that is expected is ass kissing of the manager. Well that was in one particular team. I have moved to a different team now, and here it is quite the extreme opposite. There is no ass kissing required here.
Cons
Work is demanding, leaving no time for personal life. Made to work late night several days in a row. All members in the team work like dogs and they have nothing else to do in life after work.
Advice to Senior Management
Just fire me and give a fat severence package.
Pros
good salries and company performing great
Cons
No focus on individual career growth
Advice to Senior Management
Spend some time&Money for fine tuning the processes.
Pros
Pay is good.
There is hardly any work so you can relax as long as you kiss ass of your manager well.
Cons
Full of lies during hiring. The HR and consultant will lie so much that this is a challenging place to work, career growth is great etc.
Truth is there is very little work, so the managers will ignore your work if you finish it too soon. Instead they will ask you to write up a document before starting the work, and throw it back at you again and again for spell checks missing, bold-italic-font size not good, etc, basically because there is nothing else to do. Then imagine how the career growth can be good here.
Managers are micro-managing. They will blow up one little piece of work that any college kid can do in 2 hours, call it a "feature".
There is no work-from-home even for most technical leads, although it is there for managers etc. They will leave for home at 4 pm or not come to work without notice, but will question you if you come late or leave early.
Worst office location - one look at the building where they are put up and you don't feel like being in the IT world with posh office locations and buildings.
Worst air conditioning - they will switch off AC to save money, and ignore employees' suffering from headache due to heat.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop lieing while hiring. Fire micro-managing managers. One engineer is enough for the whole company. Others can be technical sales persons.
Pros
gud package, after 13 years its somewhatt able to make a name in industry
Cons
worst management, worst office, managers are very cruel, not at all supportive staff, they always lie about the things , work is not at all gud ,they'll make ur life miserable, too much work pressure.
Advice to Senior Management
be more supportive to the employees
Pros
1) They will pay 5k to 10k more a month to catch employees into the trap
2)They use different tech , although they are not doing anything great with that. You can fill up your resume nicely.
Cons
1)Worst management.13 years still a startup...mostly loss making.Needed a massive 25 percent layoff both in US and Bangalore to stay float.
2)Worst marketting
3)Worst financials.
4) No tranparancy
5) Very very weak product line.
Advice to Senior Management
Be honest.Dont play with peoples life. Its not that you alone have to earn in millions.Let others also live.
