Pros
Very fast paced
Only company I have ever worked for that pays 2% of every deal to the Field Engineer...
If you have a sense of entitlement, it's not for you
They detest whiners and time servers
Lots of new products -- kills the competition
Lots of worldwide travel -- very imaginative company
BEST ORGANIZED COMPANY i HAVE EVER WORKED FOR -- everything is online and documented
Cons
Lot of new products, especially in Cloud Computing and lots of Web 2.0 to learn
Very high standards
They fire whiners
Advice to Senior Management
make no changes at all, expand the business, maintain the high standards and cull the deadwood and non productive sales people who take money from my pocket
Pros
Tough, brutal, fair, fearless
I've been there eight years and it gets better each year
Lots of dedicated people
Got rid of the old deadbeat management -- good news
Cons
excuses not acceptable
long hours
have to meet lots of customers and prospects -- lots of travel
they demain hard work
Advice to Senior Management
fire the deadbeats in NYC
expand the Chicago office
go after DC more
Get rid of the sad sacks and whiners
Pros
They under-promise and over-deliver on money and product -- everyone who looks at the product loves it
New 2010 products are so strong they are kiiling the competition
Cons
lots ot learn and master, no tolerance for less than perfect execution, lots of weekend work, don't ever thnik about complaiing, super mgmt
Advice to Senior Management
just keep doing the same, more sales people to help with the demand as all my guys are overworked will all the calls they getting
Pros
Primary: Easy to take advantage of. All staff are managed by one person overseas with no idea of what you do. Make the right noises and do as you please.
Second: All other staff are being treated just as badly as you, makes for some great friends.
Finally: Your boss attempts to micro-manage to a degree only found in badly written novels, watching it happen is often entertaining unless you are the target.
Cons

Argent's mission statement is to bleed money into one person's bank account at a mediocre rate. No investment will be made in staff, facilities, marketing, development or anything else. Lost customers are merely phone numbers not on the call list. Strategic opportunities are merely sales that will cost too much, find something to close. Excellence is neither punished nor rewarded, if you use the right font and keep the yellow pad in the left corner of your desk, you will not get fired.
If providing clients with quality products and services is part of your integrity, do not work for Argent.
Advice to Senior Management
There is only one manager at Argent, he should start by reading a high school text on commerce.
Pros
good money, you can generally survive for 2-3 months before you realize it ain't worth it
Cons
CEO is a nightmare
Website is a disaster
Customer support has gone downhill
Advice to Senior Management
sell the company before it implodes
Pros
Decent pay and ability to work from home.
Cons
Abusive owner, poor support, total lack of respect for employees, dictatorship not democracy, late night calls at all hours, micro management, unrealistic sales expectations, incompetent management, poor working culture, no real clear messaging or marketing, no partners, no clear sales model. Finding new customers is nearly impossible, the website is a letdown, the products don't scale and aren't as good as Argent feels they are.
Advice to Senior Management
Quit while you're ahead and try something else.
Pros
The company pays employees very well. They are very good at compensating employees above and beyond industry expectations.
Cons
This place is an extremely stressful environment. The CEO is abusive toward employees and often calls them at home (very very late at night). There are erratic job expectations and even more erratic direction from senior management, especially the CEO. The CEO lives overseas and is out of touch with business in the USA yet tries to force his unwelcome influence in every micro-area of the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Owner of the company needs to be less involved - since the departure of the last EVP, the company has been in a nosedive.
