Pros
1. Freedom
2. Better Salary than many famous Indian Companies
3. Good projects and good exposure to latest technologies
Cons
1. Senior members will always get first opportunity irrespective of their talents.
2. Promotion is defined by the number of years u spend in the company.
3. Variation in pay among employees of same experience.
Advice to Senior Management
Performances are recognized at the right time. However only experience in the company defines your growth. This perception should be changed.
Pros
some projects has very good technical scope to learn and pay wise it is good.
Cons
maangers in some projects (atleast in which i was working ) are not up to the mark. they became managers just by hanging there for years. thats it, otherwise they do not deserve any position there.
Advice to Senior Management
Try to enhance the standards of Managers (not just count the years of exp in aricent to be eligible to become manager)
Pros
we can learn lot technically
decent growth opportunities
Cons
bad management is encouraged
lot of internal politics
ever changing management
Advice to Senior Management
resign as your predecessors did...
Pros
1)good culture and environment in aricent
2)nice projects with few long term onsites
3)happening place and a rocking young crowd.
Cons
1)lesser onsites depends on project to project
2)lots of work in few projects
3)salary disparity between newly hired and existing employees
Advice to Senior Management
1)Provision of better admin and finance services
2)Better promotion policies are required.
3)Better work distribution is required in certain projects
Pros
- Good chance of learning if you get into a development project
- Chance to work with technically strong people who are working fro the time of Hughes
- flexi timings
Cons
- delayed promotions
- company pyramid comes first than employee performance
- experience major criteria for promotion rather than performance
Advice to Senior Management
Give employees more perks and growth as in times of hughes/flextronics.
Appreciate performance.
Drop cheap cost cutting measures which create frustation amongst employees.
Pros
programming and debugging skills are enhanced.Team interaction is good and one is given responsibility for his/her work.Salary is comparatively better for freshers compared to other companies.
Cons
Quality of works given to new joiners is not that good. Change of domains is difficult and one may get stuck to the same domain for a long time. Onsite opportunities are very low.
Advice to Senior Management
employee evaluation and promotion should be based on his/her actual performance and not on nepotism.Change of domain should be facilitated after the employee has worked sufficiently in a particular domain.
Pros
If you are in good terms with the managers and senior managers, no need to do any work to get good ratings, hikes, promotions.
Cons
Highly political with hopeless middle level management (like senior project managers). Regionalism favored.
Advice to Senior Management
Please learn some management!
Pros
Our small team works well together and has a lot of flexibility
Telecommuting is possible depending on client
Cons
The company is fragmented and disorganized. There is an American team and an Indian team.
We are really just a temp agency pretending to be a solutions company.
80% of projects are supposed to be staffed by Indians. The problem is none of them know how to do any of the work. So we have people on the team taking away profitability that are not doing anything.
Sales team is a joke. They can't even answer customers questions or help resolve issues. They just want to present the garbage they brought with them that has no relevance to customer needs.
Advice to Senior Management
Company needs real direction and management that listens to the American side and is not focused on numbers but growing the company.
Pros
People who are continuing from Hughes time are technically sound and can be looked forward as mentors. If you are lucky to get into a development project(chances are very minimal), can learn telecom and networking protocols.
Cons
Company completely transformed from a technology and people oriented(Hughes days) company into a services based and revenue oriented. The projects are won by quoting dead cheap prices at fixed cost and expect the engineers to slog. There is clear communication from management to work late hours and weekends. Performance reviews are based on nepotism and not based on actual performance which is a common case with most of Indian SW services firms. There is no proper projections, tracking on hiring. Over hiring and then firing became a common practice at Aricent. Overall it is no different than a wipro, tcs and infy. May be worse in some aspects.|
Advice to Senior Management
Value your employees. Don't quote unrealistic, dead cheap prices to customer just to win business. Then you expect employees to slot day and night, 7 days (and nights) a week. Quote prices that make business sense.
Pros
even salary has becom worse
there some great minds to work with.
getting benifit of being located in NCR
Cons
lot of favourtism
no work life balance
ctc means ctc:- no other benifits
lot of boot lickings
bleak future
incompetent managers
sucks employees in the name of performance cycle
no help from HR team
Advice to Senior Management
concentrate on your on line managers. they are making sure the the person having more talent and wich could be threat to their existance should no staya in the this compnay.
