    Student Worker

Student Worker III (Current Employee) Tempe, AZ

ProsIf you come to work every day and do what is required and show that you are constantly trying to improve you will receive raises. Supervisors are understanding of student work loads and allow time off for school related needs. Never worked on weekends or past 4:30.

ConsNot a lot of room for advancement. Work load

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement is great, great culture and environment to work in.

    Great Student Job

    Parking (Former Employee) Tempe, AZ

ProsWorked whenever I wanted. Would often be allowed to go to to library to do school work in between tasks.

ConsHow much you like the job will depend completely on your supervisor. Worked here for 2 years, for a year and a half I loved my supervisor. For last 6 months, there was a new supervisor who removed basically all of the Pros.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet supervisors who your employees don't hate.

Comfortable work experience. "Status Quo" job, but not very challenging.

Web Applications Developer (Current Employee) Tempe, AZ

ProsGreat benefits, and generous vacation. 4 weeks of vacation + 10 holidays, 12 sick days a year. Tuition waivers for yourself and your family.

ConsCompensation below average, but there's opportunity if you make it work.
The work becomes repetitive and sometimes boring. Don't feel challenged enough at work. You usually do the work of multiple people, but who doesn't these days?

No formal software development process. Bureaucratic deployment/development process. Must self-learn since there aren't many other developers to share skills with.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Tempe, AZ

ProsThere are great and motivated people all around. Generally helpful and very cooperative. There is an emphasis on work life balance and ample opportunities to progress in career.

ConsIt is academia so compensation is lower than in industry, but then it is to be expected. Other than that no particular cons.
