I worked at Arizona State University (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Tuition waiver - was able to complete school for a fraction of the cost.

    Cons

Pay is low - and they recently lowered the pay bands so new employees are even worse off. Departments do not communicate and collaborate well - different units in the same department have no knowledge of what the other is doing. Poor communication. There is no solid framework for how you are evaluated in your job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay fair wages - I understand that it is non-profit org. but compared to other city/state jobs the pay is significantly lower. Let employees know how they will be evaluated and what they can do to grow and help the organization reach it's goals.
