Pros
Casual work environment
Fun atmosphere
Flexible schedule
Big name clients
Global potential
Very well achieved CDs
Boutique hi-touch treatment of all work
New CEO - making big changes
Cons
Easy to get type-cast (i.e. only a digital art director)
Too much Upper Management (pyramid is upside down)
Performance/Salary/Promotion is based on your manager (and they are not all consistent)
Salaries are LOW - in general
The "little people" are forgotten about
Best way to grow or earn a higher title is to leave and come back.
Advice to Senior Management
Forget titles. Treat people equal and give opportunity to everyone.
Pros
Very creative environment and comfortable working environment.
Cons
Was told that there is a strong hierarchy which may or may not be accurate.
Advice to Senior Management
Seem very knowledgeable, but not necessarily easily accessible.
Pros
There is a gym next door.
Cons
Salaries tend to be below average.
Advice to Senior Management
Many people have been leaving because salaries are no longer competitive. Perhaps it's time to change that.
Pros
Good management, compensation, and great working atmosphere and employees at Arnold in Boston
Cons
Sometimes work was not related to job title
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to provide guidance and a mentor like leadership role
Pros
Decent pay. Good benefits. Very family first focused.
Cons
No support from top management for the people or the work. For all the talk of 'great work works' their actions show 'mediocre work keeps the client'.
Advice to Senior Management
Walk it like you talk it.
Pros
Great Benefits. Great People. Good Place.
Cons
Bad cutbacks. Bad Economy. Bad Times.

Pros
The best reason to work at Arnold is because of the fact it is in Boston which is a great city to live in. It is a pretty cool advertising community, but pretty small as well -- not a lot of options. Arnold was once one of the best in the country but they have gone way downhill since. But the benefits are great. Some of the people are terrific. I understand that it has gone down hill since I left. But there are a few accounts that still are pretty cool. Finally, it is a pretty good name on your resume -- just don't specify which years!
Cons
Unfortunately, they are over the hill. Back in the days when they had some great accounts, the best of which was Volkswagen, they were on fire. Great leadership, great creative, great reputation, and great people to work with and work for. The vibe was so much better at that time. But once they lost that account, everyone got bitter. it was every man for himself and lots of back-stabbing. The best people were systematically drummed out. The work went downhill. They can't win any new business. It is a shame, but they are now just another little local agency.
Advice to Senior Management
Feedback to senior management? get rid of 75% of the senior management and their big salaries. stop walking around like everything is good and going to be okay. take a serious and critical look at how to move the agency forward. And stop pining away for the good ole days -- they are never coming back.
Pros
Arnold has great benefits and smart, creative people. Employees get every other friday in the summer off, birthday offs, and winter wellness days off (one day every month in the winter months). There are lots of company events and parties. Lots of smart, talented and passionate people. Some of the clients are great to work for and there are generally a lot of opportunities to broaden your portfolio....
Cons
Senior management just doesn't get it. We've moved into the digital age and management just doesn't understand how to get an optimal experience. They are stuck in the "traditional" advertising mindset which won't get them far in today's day and age. There are long hours and little recognition to the people that are working the hardest. Many of the senior level management's egos get in the way of doing their jobs. Little opportunity exists for career pathing - there is little to no focus on personal development as managers are not required to take any management training and are not evaluated on their management skills.
Advice to Senior Management
Get over your egos and think about the digital age.
Pros
Brilliant creative, young and vibrant, award winning, and great people. This is the agency behind the Truth campaign. They have won countless Effies and Cannes and really know how to combine good creative with effective marketing. Each employee is obviously both intelligent and interesting outside of the office. Everybody works diligently while still maintaining great relations with each other and their clients. They offer many services and deal with both large and small clients, profit and non-profit. I worked with a big, well known account. The account management people connected with the client well while the creatives really seemed to understand and enjoy their campaigns.
Cons
The entry level positions seem to be very dull.
Advice to Senior Management
Trust your newer employees and interns.
