    Pros

Good experience. You get a feel of what working in an actual sales job will be like. Learn how to talk with businesses and find their needs. My people and business skills definitely improved by working here

    Cons

The week long training while slightly entertaining, was a bit uneccessary. It was 90% pep talk and motivational speeches that got old, FAST. Maybe it was just me but I saw right through it from the beginning. The reason they do it because this job is so demotivational. They set totally unrealistic sales goals. Expect you to visit at least 30 businesses a day and regional managers are always on your back about "going out there and getting into businesses and meeting DMs and making presentations". Some of the managers are okay, but most gave a very fake vibe and it was annoying. They make commission off your sales so of course they are always trying to push you. As a sales intern you only make commission AFTER you've reached 10,000 in sales, which is rediculous because for the average intern that is a it how much you will make in sales. And the 200 a week draw is going to be used plenty on gas. The product your selling is also behind in the times. Print advertising that literally no businesses are interested in. Not to mention their prices are too high especially for the area I was in. Prepared to get a lot of hard NOs. The worst part is that when you do make sales, you feel like you ripped businesses off, you know they arnt getting more value in the product than they are paying. And you often stretch the truth to make a sale, my RMs when they would work with me often did the same thing. It's disgusting. With everything they ask of you, working 40+ hours a week is almost expected. After making 30+ calls and meeting with your team twice a day, they also want you to enter all of your prospects and standards online. Which serves absolutely no purpose except for performance reviews which directly benefit, again your regional managers. Oh plus calling and emailing all of your potential clients which I was told don't count as calls.. Looking back on this job everything about it irritates me.

    Advice to Management

You need to reevaluate your business model top to bottom. Make the training more worthwhile. Your whole business model should not be based off taking advantage of interns. At least compensate them better. Until your mobile platform takes off, your product is totally obsolete.

    Pros

If you can figure out how to sell advertising you can sell anything. Here at ac we sell marketing. A non tangible product

    Cons

Many of the markets are saturated with the product and AC hires new infers every year so basically when you get out there and start renewals you have no idea who you're getting involved with

    Advice to Management

Lower pricing of products in saturated markets

    Pros

Meet awesome people, Learn how to function on no sleep, Young person environment

    Cons

Everything from managers and training are con artist and liars. Door to door sales. Basically a telemarketer who makes local business owners feel uncomfortable because they are forced to talk to you and listen to a sales pitch that does't make sense.

    Advice to Management

    Change the whole structure

    Pros

Week Long, All Expense Paid Trip to Chapel Hill, North Carolina Learn how to deal with rejection, be Independent, mentally tough and make sales Positive Environment, especially at training Unique Experience, something that will look exceptionally well on your resume Network with a variety of different students from all over the nation Opportunity to live on your own and adapt to a new environment Food was above average, not the best, but still better than most

    Cons

The pay isn't sufficient enough to feel comfortable You have to sell so much to see any type of profit, since you get 15% commission Sometimes the training atmosphere, which could be seen as a one big pep rally, could get old and annoying at times The Long Class sessions, with not enough time in between to relax Driving all day to up to 30 businesses a day and dealing with rejection, and dealing with businesses that don't already been in the product and don't want to try it again

    Advice to Management

Increase the pay and provide higher commission for students, most of the money is being used for gas money anyway

    Pros

They give you all the tools to sell their product, lots of useful information for salespeople. Positive and motivating culture

    Cons

Pay is bad, long hours, you're pretty much on your own the whole time. Getting rejected by store owners 20+ times a day gets old. Culture seems a little fake sometimes. Competition probably has a better product

    Advice to Management

Work with people who are struggling on how to deal with the stress of the job and give them information on how to realistically approach sales pitches

    Pros

it served as good experience for future jobs and i can use it in interviews but thats about it. pay is bad, managers are friendly though

    Cons

it was really tiring and the interns were underpaid and overworked. sales were hard to make because the market is not in demand

    Advice to Management

i would suggest more pay, less hours, less demanding, and more understanding of the interns' situation. it was hard to keep up with all the things we needed to do
