I worked at Arrow ECS full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Stable company, solid pay and decent opportunity to advance if you play the political game correctly.

    Cons

Do your job to well and Sr Leadership tends to overwork and underexpose you due to fear of losing you internally. Insurance benefits are to expensive in relation to market and industry standards.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Arrow ECS full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Room for Advancement, though not worth the minor bump in pay or hours required to get there

    Cons

-Hours, expect nights 12AM and beyond -Poor personnel decisions, they hire anyone they can because nobody wants to work here which results in less than stellar employees -Terrible reputation, any recruiter with integrity will steer you clear of Arrow -Management seems to have unlimited vacation yet that is not extended to staff -Management has a severe lack of accountability, they love to play the blame game with staff to take the heat off of themselves -Pure chaos during closes, while staff is working away you can find the managers chatting in a cube, not getting their hands dirty like they should be, but in their minds theyve earned the right to be complacent Look at the sheer number of jobs postings in the finance/accounting departments at any given time, any recruiter with integrity will tell you to avoid Arrow like the plague.

    Advice to Management

Clean house of your incompetent leaders. The turnover can be directly attributed to a select few people. Listen to the exit interviews they speak volumes about senior management.

I have been working at Arrow ECS full-time

    Pros

Good benefits package, good industry and product education, well respected company. Decent work culture and some great people across the teams.

    Cons

Poor leadership, especially sales leadership. Poor career progression - no path to move within the company.

    Advice to Management

Figure out how to keep talented employees by providing an actual career path. Reward employees for good work, especially during the hectic end of quarter periods.

I worked at Arrow ECS full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

CEO Mike Long and his leadership team are not afraid to take action to move the company forward. By all accounts they are doing their best to keep Arrow ECS in the game and viable. There are great opportunities in the right role or selling the right product line. Customer facing roles provide opportunity for visibility and growth as do the current hot product lines - software, cloud, storage. Work culture is friendly, supportive and enthusiastic.

    Cons

Distribution of computing solutions is a tough market. Understand that their business model is based on reselling to the channel so the focus is on sales and support for business partners. When sales are down, there is definitely more pressure to deliver results which can mean longer hours. Career advancement opportunities can be limited in some roles as they are often based on business need, not just employee ability. Still opportunities do exist.

I worked at Arrow ECS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some flexibility with working from home, hours, etc. but not much.

    Cons

Culture was really bad -- employees walked the halls like zombies, and it was clear most hated their jobs. Company seems to be run by short sighted, narrow minded management. Salary was poor, and they asked their people to work a lot of extra hours without pay or overtime compensation. I thought that was borderline illegal. A lot of promises were made about future promotions and salary that were never kept. It was just a really sad and depressing place to work, and not for me at all. All the best employees left.

    Advice to Management

Act more like a tech company. Focus on making it a fun and exciting place to work, treat your employees right so they don't all leave, and so you can attract good talent.
