    Pros

A lot of hands on work, busy environment.

    Cons

Low pay, usually was able to work a lot of overtime. The tent sales tend to be a bit tedious.

    Advice to Management

Treat the backroom employees as a part of the team!

    Pros

Compensation was outstanding. If you are competitive and able to focus on yourself being the best you can be, skies the limit! Benefits were great! Although it was retail hour the managers were always flexible with my schedule and in return I would be flexible with them if they ever needed me. It's a great team work environment!

    Cons

Any cons would be petty. No company is perfect, but for the most part Art Van treated me well. I was sad when I moved out of state and had to leave.

    Pros

None, not one good thing about this place.

    Cons

Liars, liars, liars, and more liars. Promised 40+ hours by management and barely made 32

    Advice to Management

Management has favorites whom they won't fire or even write up. just to keep their low pay scale on those people. Stop hiring new people to do the old employees work. Fire them!! Company success will not happen while current management is there. So much stupidity it's ridicules.

    Pros

Always meeting new people, and a fun team atmosphere.

    Cons

Working weekends and holidays. Must be in the "click" to get sales T.O.

    Advice to Management

Some managers are not fair in that they do not treat everyone equally. Please try not to show such favoritism, and treat everyone fairly.

    Pros

Potential to build your own client base if you are available to work all weekends and multiple evenings/nights during the week.

    Cons

Forced to TO if a guest is not purchasing or leaving a deposit. Forced to TO if you can't convince a guest to purchase a warranty or any furniture cleaning kit. Other sales personnel stealing your sales of you are not in the store. Very rare to come across loyal sales personnel.

    Advice to Management

It's not professional to yell at your employees when they don't sell a warranty or furniture care kit.

    Pros

Great people to work with. Fast paced atmosphere.

    Cons

The direction was not always clear. Also when it came time for final production we were still waiting on images from the photo studio.

    Pros

Very fast passed growing Company. Opportunity to grow a strong career. A Sales Associates income has no limit.

    Cons

The unfortunate thing that comes with a growing company is it becomes top heavy with newly created positions. Each new head of a particular area has to prove their worth. This at times results in the loss of dedicated employees. Each region is subject to the style of the regional leader. If your personality type does not fit the personality of the given regional manager you will not make it in Management. There are only a couple Regional Managers in this company that have the ability to recognize the value of diverse personalities needed to run a Sales Floor. This Company that claims to be Family orientated is now open on Thanksgiving. Profits before values. This again is the price a Company can pay during growth.

    Advice to Management

Try to figure out a way to balance Family time and Profit time for the employees. Difficult yes. Make sure the Regional Managers have the ability to motivate multiple personality types. Some Regional Managers are weeding out employees due to their own personal inability to see individuals for their individual value.

    Pros

Hours when you need them, good exercise, learn a lot about furniture, profit sharing after one year, 1 hour lunch break.

    Cons

Often short-staffed, up to 16 hour days, greatly under-compensated for the hard work you do, warehouse lacks proper tools and materials, scheduling is not flexible. You get marked down for things you are not responsible for, such as customers not being home to receive their order, or a salesperson writing up the wrong product.

    Advice to Management

Pay your stagers properly. They are all vastly underpaid. No one should put that much physical wear and tear on their bodies for only $10 an hour, not to mention the responsibility of handling, assembling, and inspecting tens of thousands of dollars worth of products on a daily basis. Also, marking down a deliverer's/stager's performance for things they have nothing to do with makes no sense.
