    A good experience

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsIn the year I worked there as a consultant, they hired several key department leaders who I believe are talented individuals. They saw incredible revenue growth from the majority of their products/services. Management team is very approachable and open to new ideas.

ConsFrankly I believe they have too much going on in terms of legacy products and services. They were working hard to consolidate and optimize - so good job in many ways. However, I believe they are still figuring out what their core product/service is since there is so much on their plate. Lot of turnover in the junior level employees. Sales department needs their own space in the office.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep doing what you did in 2013. Focus more on what you can control versus potential fallout from changes impacting auction houses.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Sweatshop Mentality (Invaluable, LLC - formerly Artfact, LLC)

    (Current Employee)

    Pros- Lunch on Fridays
    - Company's holidays

Cons- Sweatshop mentality: no work-life balance.
    - Majority of senior management (Director level & up) seem incompetent, control-freak, & slave-driver.
    - No training provided for new employees... you ended up learning very little from some of the Product Team members who are very stand-off-ish & arrogant.
    - No SDLC, they pretty much do whatever, whenever they want, no processes in place, causing frequent chaos at work,

Advice to Senior Management- Need to promote work-life balance, e.g. employees must go home at 5:30 PM Monday-Thursday, and 4:30 PM on Fridays. Meaning: work 40 hours per week instead of 55 hours per week!
    - Senior management need to be less micromanaging & be less slave-driver
    - Provide a formal Training Dept.
    - Provide strong processes & SDLC in place, stick to them, & follow them rigorously
    - Have a life! This industry is not dealing with "live or death" situations, why must be so uptight, super competitive, & cut-throat to the extreme?

    Massive Restructuring

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Allston, MA

ProsFree lunch on Fridays. Great coworkers. They make it worth it to come to work everyday.

ConsManagement hires from other startups that they know instead of looking for other talent. Low worker morale. Use of alcohol as an award. A male dominated culture. No women in management. No place for advancement. Low pay for tons of work. Sitting there waiting to see who won't be showing up at work the next day. Tense.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease value the little people a little more.

    Waste of time

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

    ProsLunch and beer on Friday's

ConsManagement is extremely inept and has a "my way or the highway" mentality. They've all jumped from start-up to start-up, either because they go under or have been fired. Their technology constantly fails and improvements are always 5 years behind anything current. There are a few shining stars who are very under appreciated. If the founder wasn't sinking a ton of money into the company every quarter, it would have gone down years ago. Terrible office morale.

ProsThey feed you on Friday's (pizza, salad and sandwiches)
Free beer on Friday's at 4:00pm
Lax schedule, if you hit your numbers
Cool office space and enjoyable employees

    ConsSub-par 2 week training
    In-your-face VP's
Sub-par base salary for cold calling
A lot of movement within the organization (never a good sign)
    Slash and burn mentality
    Sub-par product (Auctionzip)

ProsGives employees perks like free lunch Fridays and beer, snacks and ice cream.

ConsNeeds to treat and pay employees for what they are worth. The perks do not make it worth it.

Great people and a lot of room to experiment

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsCompany in growth phase which means a lot of room to try new approaches or suggest initiatives - this is encouraged

ConsSalaries low, benefits so-so. Top management tends not to communicate very well. There is an expectation that you will work more than regular hours.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive annual cost of living raises. Consider permitting people to work remotely and support the infrastructure to allow remote work.
