    I worked at Artfact full-time

    Pros

Good management, good co workers. Friday beer social was always nice, although it was better when we went to Deep Ellum v just bringing beer into the office.

    Cons

CEO didn't have clear vision of where to go or how developers worked (ie. demanding people work more traditional 'bankers hours' v. working when you are most productive)

I worked at Artfact full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

In the year I worked there as a consultant, they hired several key department leaders who I believe are talented individuals. They saw incredible revenue growth from the majority of their products/services. Management team is very approachable and open to new ideas.

    Cons

Frankly I believe they have too much going on in terms of legacy products and services. They were working hard to consolidate and optimize - so good job in many ways. However, I believe they are still figuring out what their core product/service is since there is so much on their plate. Lot of turnover in the junior level employees. Sales department needs their own space in the office.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you did in 2013. Focus more on what you can control versus potential fallout from changes impacting auction houses.

I worked at Artfact full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free lunch on Fridays. Great coworkers. They make it worth it to come to work everyday.

    Cons

Management hires from other startups that they know instead of looking for other talent. Low worker morale. Use of alcohol as an award. A male dominated culture. No women in management. No place for advancement. Low pay for tons of work. Sitting there waiting to see who won't be showing up at work the next day. Tense.

    Advice to Management

Please value the little people a little more.

    Pros

    Lunch and beer on Friday's

    Cons

Management is extremely inept and has a "my way or the highway" mentality. They've all jumped from start-up to start-up, either because they go under or have been fired. Their technology constantly fails and improvements are always 5 years behind anything current. There are a few shining stars who are very under appreciated. If the founder wasn't sinking a ton of money into the company every quarter, it would have gone down years ago. Terrible office morale.

    Advice to Management

Stop cutting corners on everything you do

    Pros

    Cons

Needs to treat and pay employees for what they are worth. The perks do not make it worth it.

    Pros

Company in growth phase which means a lot of room to try new approaches or suggest initiatives - this is encouraged

    Cons

Salaries low, benefits so-so. Top management tends not to communicate very well. There is an expectation that you will work more than regular hours.

    Advice to Management

Give annual cost of living raises. Consider permitting people to work remotely and support the infrastructure to allow remote work.
