    Pros

Good work life balance, great people, large amount of resources and tools, robust compliance department, opportunity for growth.

    Cons

No training program for new employees, some favoritism in management, poor benefits package.

    Advice to Management

Area Presidents should be dedicated to helping the other producers in the office, not competing with them.

    Pros

.... hmmm not sure if I see anything as a pro there.

    Cons

    very catty, childish and mis-managed

    Advice to Management

Take control of your employees, favoritism still exists and is not good for employee moral.

I worked at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Telecommuting and superior management team under a CGL grocery chain TPA that allows one to develop their interpersonal relationship building expertise as necessary to appease the client and claimant not just resolve the damage claim. The claimant is also a patron of the store in most cases.

    Cons

Not enough examiners on each team leading to mandatory long hours to manage the heavy case load. It is an exempt position so no overtime.

    Advice to Management

Recognize hard work and bonus accordingly to ensure top talent stays with the company.

I have been working at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. full-time

    Pros

AJG & Co., is growing rapidly, which means that there are a lot of opportunities available.

    Cons

Networking is difficult, as the employee population is so spread out and many roles don't ever have the option to interact. No division meetings, to align on the company strategy. Division silos. Leadership silos. Stale culture.

    Advice to Management

Be open to new ideas, modern technology, and acceptance of millennial thinkers.

I worked at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible work hours Supportive co-workers (mostly) Interesting job

    Cons

Management does not do enough to retain claims adjusters Lack of upward mobility between claim units (Fast Track to Mid level) Yearly raises are a joke You can work your tail off and be an efficient adjuster, but they hardly promote from within The computer applications CONSTANTLY freeze or are down for hours

    Advice to Management

Specifically at the Oak Brook location, the work environment can be hostile at times. There are many workers who do not "play well with others". The yearly raises are a joke. While employed, I saw at least 5-6 mid level adjusters leave and not once were Fast Track adjusters considered for the position. There is a supervisor who spends a great deal of time walking around and running his mouth and then complains about having too much work. This same supervisor has said inappropriate things to staff and never received anything more than a slap on the hand from the branch manager. I left the company due to the lack of upward mobility and low compensation.

I worked at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There were a lot of great employees. A majority of the people that I worked with were pleasant and enjoyable to talk to. You could always strike a conversation and spend time getting to know new people. Nobody seems to track your browsing history, so if you look like you're working, you can just screw around all day reading articles and watching cat videos. as long as no-one can see your screen, you're good.

    Cons

Just about everything else... Technology is way outdated. Upper management could care less about finance personnel. The general mentality is "Make it work for our client, regardless of how manual the process." No fixed yearly raise, you have to fight for it. No internal career growth. I spent more than a year there, and saw 5 manager positions get filled from external hiring. No bonus for finance people, which makes it that much harder to process all the bonuses for the sales team.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within. There is much talent on the working floor. Stop hiring from CNA. Don't be stingy with pay. You can't tell the team that finance was under budget by a mil and then not increase pay....
