    Pros

Overall great environment. Lots of PAID training and you can definitely use all their resources to gain certifications as well as CE. Pay was pretty good and their benefits were pretty good as well. They also match your 401k contributions. Their overall core values are something they try to apply to the office environment but there are always those few coworkers who ruin a nice office environment.

    Cons

Very hard to get promoted. You can be working in the same position and prove yourself to be more than qualified for another position within however they will hire a freshly graduated college student with a degree in cows to do a job that someone within was more than qualified and capable of doing. Raises are not given very often and bonuses started out ok then ceased all together.

    Advice to Management

Have more faith in your current employees who are currently working and giving their best for you. Try promoting from within and not just the ones who you favor. Try to listen to the genuine complaints your staff have. It might surprise you what even your management have to say.

    Pros

Allows you to work from home. Local management is good.

    Cons

From the claim rep side: Company communication is poor. Salary increases are not on a regular basis and they are minimal. Many projects that take time away from doing your job

    Advice to Management

Reward your employees on a consistent basis with yearly increases that are not an insult. Put more emphasis on having offices fully staffed.

    Pros

The people can be friendly, and individual departments seem to get along well. A good manager can help you a lot since direct managers control the flexibility of hours. The starting pay is generally fair for the market.

    Cons

It is rare to see someone promoted from within. Advancement is limited, lateral movement is rare, and little is done to develop current employees. Few employees are given bonuses and the small salary increases each year are "performance based." It is difficult to get a job here unless you have a family member or friend already working for the company.

    Advice to Management

Work on developing employees by encouraging lateral movement or assigning additional responsibilities as time goes on. Too many people are doing the exact same thing they've been doing for many years. Maintaining better communication across departments. The teamwork across departments is segregated at best and highly confrontational at its worst.

    Pros

There are times that you feel like people like you there, and there are times you may genuinely like working there and seeing everybody everyday.

    Cons

that feeling ends pretty quickly, people are always on you no matter what you do, even if you are caught up, NOTHING is good enough for them. One mistake, One time, never before done is a criminal case to them, even if it's something small, like putting the coffee box in the wrong cupboard.

    Advice to Management

I honestly don't know, Management is great, they seem like nice people and are very understanding. It's everybody else that is less than satisfactory.

    Pros

Great company for sales people. Company continues to grow through acquisitions. Great co-workers with a lot of experience and knowledge. Location was easy to get to from multiple transportation methods.

    Cons

The culture is changing quickly. Merit increases and promotions are based on who you know not your individual contribution. There is a lot of cronyism and nepotism throughout the organization. Salary and hiring freezes are frequent. Benefits are more expensive every year.

    Advice to Management

Value employees more. There is talent outside of family members and friends. If you're going to increase the costs associated with benefits, you should give comparable salary increases

    Pros

There is a lot of room to grow in this company for those new to the workforce. There are a lot of opportunities to learn about the business and industry.

    Cons

Consistency between departments/managers/offices is lacking. Pay raises are not guaranteed and pay rate tends to be on the low side (if you are not in sales). For an insurance brokerage, benefits are dismal.

    Pros

My co-workers were hard working and dedicated to the client...to our collective detriment.

    Cons

Management's continued failure to recognize how out of balance the "quantity to quality" scale is when it comes to the distribution of work and staffing.

    Advice to Management

Local management must find the courage to address the inadequate staffing issue with senior management, corporate profit margins be damned.

    Pros

Relaxed environment, decent pay, friendly coworkers, good location, very comfortable working conditions

    Cons

Minimal increase in pay. Limited opportunity for growth, seems like a 2nd tier organization, they are a little behind on all trends or larger companies in the same industry

    Advice to Management

Give raises and encourage growth within the company

    Pros

Good salary & benefits. Jeans on Fridays! PTO is only 10 days per year and no work from home.

    Cons

There is no training in place. Management assigns you workload without any training. People aren't approachable either.
