Artio is a small firm with a very flat structure which makes for plentiful exposure to senior executives and other decision makers.

Cons

Interesting assignments tend to be held close by a small group of insiders. Priorities are not effectively communicated and can change frequently.

Advice to Senior Management

Artio could benefit from increased transparency and better communication of priorities. There are a number of bright people there who's talents are not fully employed due to reliance on a small group of insiders for all interesting projects.

Pros

- relatively young organization and energetic working environment
- potential upside in compensation if the company does well
- competent benefit packages including tuition reimbursement

Cons

- too much bureaucracy for a firm of this size (slightly over 200 employees)
- not easy to find internal transfer opportunities
