I have been working at Aruba Networks full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Collaborative work environment working with top notch engineers. Commitment to quality. Good work-life balance. Commitment to the best technology for the job.

    Cons

New management changes are starting to erode the culture. Work-life balance is being tilted away from balance. A great deal of uncertainty about the future of products and technology. The new management seems determined to chase the best engineers out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leave well enough alone, but make sure you adequately staff key areas. People start to make serious mistakes when they are doing the work of three or four people.

I worked at Aruba Networks full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Reasonable compensation. Lots of smart people to work with, although they all seem to be heading for the door these days.

    Cons

Huge problems with management and their "planning" process. Basically, they can't agree on anything, keep changing directions, budgets, and generally sowing organizational chaos. Communication is very poor. Older management has been at the company for too long, and lack the perspective that comes from working more than one place at a high level. Newer management is all from very large companies and engaging in empire building.

Recently announced record earnings, celebrated by laying off employees to "optimize". So as others have pointed out, very little job security at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pick a plan. Fund your plan. Measure your progress. Repeat.

I worked at Aruba Networks as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Internship is one of the best experience one can have in this company! HRs are always approachable and available and they will organize many intern activities to create a fun filled experience.

    Cons

Some managers are not professional. Also, individual recognition is pretty less in some teams.

I have been working at Aruba Networks full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Small company - great benefits
Salary market competitive though RSU grants have been eliminated for all but at the highest levels.
    Good work life balance.

    Cons

Believes in firing talent randomly. 10% layoff in India in July 2014 and 4% layoff in USA in Aug 2014 ostensibly to move jobs to India.

Lots of friction between upper management.

Anyone who hasn't worked with CDO earlier is let go !

    I worked at Aruba Networks

    Pros

Market leader in wireless networking, stable company (no regular layoff announcements) so that people can focus on work.

    Cons

New engineering management is from a BIG company and they are changing the BsC (biggest small company) culture. The management is biased, most benefits go to select few, no room for growth just based on good work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Focus on people

I have been working at Aruba Networks as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Perfect for interns to get a lot of hands on experience
    Two gyms, nice work-life balance.

    Cons

Didn't get the best computer, interns got the hand me down ones that would have memory or other issues. The biggest little company atmosphere, forced team building exercises are a little much for me.
