    Pros

Really none. Ok office with nice location.

    Cons

Jerks for Managers. "Guys Club" throughout the office and a lot of petty childish politics. Wrong types of leaders in leadership roles whom have 0 qualifications for their roles but were "Grandfathered" in.

    Advice to Management

You need to Respect to earn Respect.

I worked at Asbury Automotive full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good place to gain experience and move on

    Cons

Company does not follow policy as written in handbook. High burnout, constant cutting of pay and benefits, employee morale extremely low. I witnessed very few people happy in their positions.

    Advice to Management

    Value those under your supervision.

I worked at Asbury Automotive full-time

    Pros

The training program was great. They have a good selling process, but it does take some time to learn it. Good money!

    Cons

Long hours leaving no time for family life. Good ole boys atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

This is not 1960. People expect a higher level of professionalism from management even in the car business.

I worked at Asbury Automotive (More than a year)

    Pros

Good Benefits Nice facilities. THATS IT!

    Cons

IF you've been in the auto industry and have worked for real dealers DO NOT WORK for Asbury. Management lies to there staff. Your money is ALWAYS wrong. they will never tell you what you made until the end of the month and it's always wrong. They love green peas anyone with any experience should never work for this company. Complete dictatorship and no teamwork what so ever. Highest turnover I've ever seen in this business. No room for growth at all unless you're a young kid that is willing to be paid nothing for a year to advance. Worst money I've ever made in this business.

    Advice to Management

Stop talking down to your employees. Stop telling your sales staff it's none of their business what they made.

    Pros

Learned what tricks to look out for when buying a car. Did meet some nice folks that quit faster than I did. Learned a hard lesson.

    Cons

No concern for staff, excessive hours for no pay, they will always find a way to not pay you. Expect you to lie to customers. Expected to make calls to people that are sick of being called by the same dealer for months or even years. No honesty in management.

    Advice to Management

Start going to church. Worst culture I have ever heard of. Consider how you would feel if your family was treated how you treat staff and customers.

I worked at Asbury Automotive full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I do not recommend to work there.

    Cons

Company not organized. Managers are not trained on how to give on job training or coaching .. they screem all the time at everybody and for anything. They think they should treat people exactly same as they got treated when they hired :)

    Advice to Management

managers should spend time on listening to the problems / concern and not only concentrate on how to cut commission for the sales to get higher salary. Also they should spend money on TV Advertisement to be able to seel more cars.

I worked at Asbury Automotive full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Work a ton you can make a little money in sales

    Cons

Constant changing pay plans and cutting pay Arrogant management sent in by Asbury to dealership levee Could not care at all about time off work/life balance Tenure and time with company means nothing....they will happily tell you they do not need you and it is easy to replace you

    Advice to Management

I was at Plaza Motors in St Louis as a top sales performer for about a decade. Asbury is a CRAP company that simply treats employees poorly for no reason. Asbury does not understand the St Louis market, nor do they try to. What a POS place to work you have made what used to be a tremendous place to work.

I worked at Asbury Automotive full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

As long as you are spineless and a puppet, you will fit right in

    Cons

surprise pay and insurance cuts without warning. Railroad many longtime employees out the door due to 'excessive' vacation time and 'excessive pay/ benefits'. Experience and knowledge do not matter, clientele relationships are not respected, total emphasis on the bottom line and who can be sacrificed without thought to improve the bottom line. Hopeless and unethical treatment of employees

I worked at Asbury Automotive full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Got to learn the automotive industry from a retail level.

    Cons

Horrible hours. 60-70 hrs a week. Work every Saturday and every other Sundays. Managers are not very supportive and a lot of favoritism. High turn-over rate. Sink or swim mentality. Benefits are very minimum.

    Advice to Management

It's okay to focus on the sales numbers but you have to understand there must be self development on the sales person in order to produce great numbers. And stop draining your sales person out. Happy employees are more productive.
