It is a unique experience for a unique candidate, you work from home and the micro management is a little overwhelming.

    Credit Negotiator (Current Employee)
    Columbia, MD

ProsYou work from home. Wich can be a good thing at first... but then, depending on your personality it can be sufficating to be home every day all day.

ConsThe micro management, and the lack of response form management when needed for questions and feedback.

ProsDecent pay. Great benefits. Good way to develop your skills. Opportunities to transfer between departments for further skill enhancement.

ConsCompany seems unstable the past year or two. Some concerns with long-term viability.

Advice to Senior ManagementMaintain honest and open communication.

    No job Security

    Creditor Negotiator (Former Employee)
    Columbia, MD

Prosbenefits, good pay, work from home, no commute

ConsVery psychologically draining. You are praised one day and scolded the next. It seems as if there is no room for development. Training is done in a technologically advanced office but with very little quality to the training itself. Everything about NUMBERS and goals DAILY. Pretty much sales disguised as customer service.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement resembles congress. No matter how wrong they may be its the employee's fault. Show some knowledge that you have experience in the job you are managing. A confident happy employee with be a profitable happy employee.

Frustration and lack of support by management

    Creditor Negotiator (Former Employee)
    Columbia, MD

ProsWorking from home had positive aspects

ConsIncompetent training program. Managers just sit in there cubes and talk with there peers. If you have a question and send team leader email they don't respond or they tell you that topic was covered in training when vital information was completely left out of the training program. High turnover in this company. If you are not young and from the hood you just don't fit in the culture and are ignored especially being female.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire college educated management staff

    Good and Bad

    Creditor Negotiator (Former Employee)
    Columbia, MD

ProsWorking from home is wonderful. Competitive pay and good benefits

ConsProfiting of the bad financial circumstances of others. Dishonest atmosphere permitted as long as quotas are met.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe more concerned with honesty of employees, than with strictly numbers.

    Sadly Dissapointed

    Creditor Negotiator (Former Employee)
    Columbia, MD

    ProsPay, Benefits, Location, in-house restaurant

ConsOnly a handful are consistently meeting assigned goals. Not an even "playing field" They have a VERY high turn over rate. Alot of double work. If you have a job already do NOT leave it for Ascend One's Negotiator Dept.

Advice to Senior Managementcreate an even playing firld and improves settlement services, I was redoing settlements over and over because my settlement letters were not getting approved in a timely manner. Supervisors rated you by day vs quarterly. I was a superstar one day and 4days later was asked if I really thought I could do the job-?

Devolving--The Good, the Bad, the Ugly

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe ability to telecomute from home.

Cons--The lost message of client being #1
--Inadequate Info to client, which leads to misleading decision
--Inadequate and lack of Client Support
    --Lack of employee support
    --Rushed/Incomplete Training
    --Stressful environment
--Unrealistic goals for honest and quality work performed by associates with integrity.

**In all fairness to the company, it was a great place to work and the experiences were the opposite of the above several years ago. Clients and employees were respected and treated well but unfortunately, the direction of the company changed.

Advice to Senior Management--Treat employees with respect; demand the best from employees as well as your co-workers and upper management.
--Fight for employees' rights and blatant injustice.
--Insist on proper professional training for new employees, retraining current employees as needed, and enhancement training to introduce new procedures and develop skills.
    --Fight for clients' rights
--Happy employees equate to longevity, faithfulness in company and brand, job security and both employees, customers and company satisfaction.

*Remember you are never alone if you do the right thing. There is power in unity, and if managers will stick together, it sends a powerful message to the upper management and CEO alike.
