I worked at Ascom Network Testing full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Focus on mobile industry, which has good consistency in recent economic environment. There are some very good people to work with.

    Cons

They are challenged to grow their business and need new product ideas. Hard to get new business ideas off the ground.

Most un-ethical group of management in any industry. How long can this go on before someone wakes up?

I have been working at Ascom Network Testing full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Few good employee's that care about what they do.
Salaries are reasonable for the industry.

    Cons

No focus on the core business
When things get tight, the idea is to lay off the ones doing the actual work, when the management that was responsible for the downfall remains.
To much focus on keeping friends in management instead of running the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The dead weight is right under your nose, in that, its probably you. Take care of your employees, and they will take care of you. There are no benefits to extremely long hour's, working throughout every weekend. Only results are loss of family life and physical health. Just look at how many have been out on extended sick leave due to exhaustion.

I worked at Ascom Network Testing full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are plenty of talented individuals with extensive experience in the marketplace within the Ascom Network Testing division. Many of the individuals will go beyond respective responsibility in order to support business activities and the TEMS brand name has a highly reputable reputation around the world.

    Cons

There is almost no collaboration between the three geographical regions on individual contributor level and very little, if any, support by the executive management related to share experience between regions, which leads to the various operational organizations can be compared with silos on many levels. Some managers will do almost anything to meet their own shortsighted goal(s) prior to supporting the staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The division would benefit from move individuals between roles within the management team, or bring in new individuals. Important for to management to lead by example and hold regular qualitative surveys, anonymous, with employees in order to provide constructive feedback plus establish an action plan based on the result.
Be more active with regards to business development in line with the strategic plan and based on feedback from key customers. Be more open with internal goals, new initiatives and the prioritization of the same to ensure individuals feel part of the core.

I have been working at Ascom Network Testing full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Some people friendly; mostly professional environment; decent office building & area. I don't have to commute too far. Ascom Network Testing is #1 globally for network testing products.

    Cons

Management not friendly with non-management employees, pay is sub-standard, budget cuts, layoffs have created a lackluster environment - employees working harder but for less, with no raises and no bonuses for 2013. Telecommunications industry continues to struggle.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

At least act like you care

    Pros

Salary and benefits range the industry average.

    Cons

Management doesn't trust on employees, huge lack of internal communication. Most people work internally only trying to make their managers happy (much more important than making customers happy!!), no customer focus and total lack on employee motivation. Most employees looking to leave the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on employees and customers and employees.
