Pros – There is a culture of investment in employees and promotion from within. The company is well-grounded.

Cons – It's not a sexy industry.

Advice to Senior Management – Stay the course. Continue to invest in the people that make the company what it is. Fight the good fight - never sell out.

Current Employee – been working at Ash Grove Cement full-time for more than 7 years

Pros – - benefits are decent
- people are nice
- CEO/upper level management

Cons – - Limited advancements
-Limited budgets
- very slow raises/promotions/ job advancements

Advice to Senior Management – Work with employees, increase raises/bonuses, promote true talent.

Current Employee – been working at Ash Grove Cement

Pros – Gain great experience, good employees, stable company, nice family atmosphere although that is quickly changing as corporate is becoming too big.

Cons – Salaried employees are asked to do too much, they are worked long hours and are not rewarded for it. The company doesn't not balance work/family. Wages are not competitive. Becoming too top heavy, there are way too many V.P.'s.

Advice to Senior Management – Promotions are still based on the good old boy system. It's not what you know, it's who you know and who's @ss you kiss.
