I have been working at Ashland full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Have been able to grow and develop there (when at the former, purchased company), flexible work arrangements.

    Cons

With the recent move, it is now a long commute, many people have left. Company is not replacing many of the slots now open.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire those that are temping now, as we need the people who do that work.

    Pros

Ashland gave us an opportunity to succeed as a sales professional, and provided us the necessary resources and support staff to do so.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more positive feedback to the worker bees; more than the annual Performance Appraisal

    Pros

Lots of experience. Jobs are varied. Lots of projects.

    Cons

No job security. Mass layoffs every two years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management of labor costs with regular mass playoffs is a strange budget plan. You can do better. This is a best practice no where.

    I worked at Ashland

    Pros

If you like change and not knowing what to expect year to year then this is the place for you.

    Cons

The company is still trying to develop its identity as an organization. Too much change. Expected to do more with less, times 10.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too much change is hurting the employee's morale and makes it hard to identify with the company and makes it hard for the employees to buy into the message.
