Pros
good work/life balance
good benefits
respect of superiors
entrepreneurial spirit allowed
Cons
Pay could be better and bonuses renewed
Advice to Senior Management
Make sure you take care of TOP producing people
Pros
Great Brands. Good Boss. Great Location. They have really good benefits and management is understanding with reasonable personal issues that may come up
Cons
Too many politics among divisions. Don't react quickly enough to market conditions. rumor mill due to potential company acquisition was rampant.
Advice to Senior Management
Be more direct and open with employees about the direction of the company. Senior executives should take up residence in Carlsbad to make employees feel there is something of a future for the company.
Pros
My experience was generally good, respect and recognition was given fairly (albeit not followed up with actual $$$!); it was a cushy job that didn't keep you awake at night . . . management was fine-to-great, some of the higher level execs were really good about giving credit where credit was due . . . No overt workplace drama, the atmosphere was professional without being "stuffy".
Cons
With all the changes that went on in the past few years, a lot of it was a "surprise" (unless you were personally close to someone in the 'inner circle', and many weren't . . . ) Hopefully, after being bought by Adidas, the people working for the Ashworth brand are a cohesive unit again.
Advice to Senior Management
Take some creative risks with the brand, and if they succeed, reward your people with more than just momentary verbal recognition!
