    Pros

AsiaRooms is a young and vibrant company. There are many talented people with colleagues who are accommodating and friendly. It's a good ground to learn about the online travel business if you're assigned to the right managers. Because the company size isn't too big, there are many opportunities to learn and take on more responsibilities. There is also many flexibility within the company as most managers are naturally people oriented. Compared to many companies in Singapore, I consider the benefit for AsiaRooms employees (salary, allowance, travel expenses, medical coverage, insurance, leaves) as competitive. It is also a company that practices work life balance

    Cons

Since late 2013, the company went through a lot of major changes. These changes are meant for the better but it didn't seem to be that way. Employees who decide to stick with the company don't seem to have clear directions. There are no real, realistic and meaningful KPIs because of the company's condition.

    Advice to Management

You know the road blocks, and you know employees cannot continue to be motivated if there isn't clear directions and vision. Sort things out fast and move forward!

    Pros

Good Work Life Balance- because one can come & go as they please
    Bare Minimum Benefits
Excellent Compensation if you know how to negotiate for no proper compensation policy is in place

    Cons

No proper Compensation structure. For example, Candidate A can get a $200 Salary increment if it was indicated in the Expected Salary Column. Likewise Candidate B can get as high as $1000 Salary increment if it was indicated in the Salary Column.
    - Pay rise is minimum: less than 2%
    - No Proper Workplace Policy- Employee can stroll in the company as & when they like. For example from 9.30- 10am
    - Employees who reported to work late can still have breakfast in the pantry before they start work
    - Employee are free to do what they like, for example play game in the pantry.

    Pros

Some good talent and amicable co-workers can be found
Well established brand name so beneficial for professional profiling

    Cons

Dubious top management with numerous bad decisions made with short term outlook, yet with reactionary plans that change too frequently
Matrixed reporting structure to parent UK company
    Cronyism exists at senior levels

    Advice to Management

Parent company in UK needs to understand what's really happening on the ground
    Stop micromanaging and reactionary planning
Ensure senior management are properly qualified with system of checks and balances for decisions made

    Pros

Young, keen to progress and try hard to be competitive. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and location

    Cons

Nothing really works. Last minute decisions that end up being bad decisions, 1000's of dollars wasted on unfruitful projects, top bosses wasting money on trips, continuous loss of top management figures.

    Advice to Management

Focus on what really matters and give more priority and value the most important resource on any successful business: its people

    Pros

Pace of life manageable and location with great food.

No sense of empowerment when decisions are often overwritten based on persona agenda.

Support from the sister company is very much limited as well.

    Advice to Management

    Trust Asians more.

    Pros

You gain knowledge of various departments and enhance your skill sets as of the offline job task that is thrown on your plate. These are all charity work as no benefits are allocated and you are required to complete these task as management are trying to polish their superiors.

    Cons

Managers are selected as per their polishing skills with the higher management and not through the skills they posesses. Hiring of staff with no skill set for the market needs as then its easier for management to bully them around with task and no questions asked.

    Advice to Management

Start your monitoring on the management and people skills in managers. If they can't walk the talk, then they might as well walk the dog. You cannot get a donkey to do an elephants job. So Think, Consider and Action accordingly.

    Pros

Interesting and fun colleagues and good working environment. May learn quite a bit of skills here but simply that is it.

    Cons

Working environment is good but sadly, progression in the company is close to none. Ironically, 'Value Driven' is one of the group's mission statement but it seems that employee's value is not valued at all. Only those who knows how polish will shine. get my drift?

    Advice to Management

Buck up with the management skills and improve the benefits given to employees. One works for the money and progression, not for fun. Give these employees a ladder to climb or else they will look for a door to open.
