I worked at Asian Services in Action part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

if you are Hispanic and female despite lack of qualifications you will work.

    Cons

If you interpret in Spanish and are not Latino they discriminate against you; racist basically. They serve the Juvenile and adult courts of Cleveland and have few if any State Certified Interpreters. Since they are the 'go to' source for interpreting in these courts the courts it appears are not abiding by Federal Law which states that a court should attempt to hire a State Certified Court Interpreter before resorting to a less qualified interpreter. They capture the difference in pay between a certified interpreter and the rate they pay theirs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a manager of interpreting that knows how to manage and is certified in legal interpreting in the State of Ohio

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
