Port Elizabeth (South Africa)

Former Employee – worked at Aspen Pharmacare full-time for less than a year

ProsNone as I am totally disgusted with they why they treat their people

ConsWorking like slaves, management takes control over your life - at
Work and at home! As a pharmacist working for Aspen I experienced that
As a company, Aspen do not really care for their people!

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your qualified specialists with more respect and have more confidence in your employees!

Grand Baie, Rivière du Rempart (Mauritius)

Former Employee – worked at Aspen Pharmacare as an intern

ProsGreat peers to work with!

ConsVery unprofessional management. Unqualified and unfit people who should not be let run fruit stands, let alone an organization, ironically, take key positions in the company. No opportunities for growth! Your performance is never good enough for a promotion while, at the same time, people who suck up to the right executives, advance very fast. The company is like a modern sweat shop where management also has to know every move you make both in your personal and in your professional life. If they sense you start doing any thinking of your own which is not of their liking, you will be considered a 'bad egg' which will rotten the other eggs with its thoughts, so gradually they 'phase you out' or set you up for a failure in order to have grounds to fire you. The company is never in the wrong, it is the employee who is in the wrong. This is why they constantly talk about open communication and feedback , so that they know what is on your mind and can react accordingly.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire qualified people for the key leadership positions who will make the right decisions, do what is best for the company and what is fair for its employes. The company needs 'true' leaders and not 'dictators'.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Prosnone. Its CEO is a CA so you know your company well financially structured.

ConsPeople in management positions are not qualified for the posts, they are paid to be puppets and not exercise their own thought of mind. Growth is based on sucking up to the right people, and ultimately you are just a number.

Advice to Senior ManagementHigher qualified people for the positions required. there is so such room for improvement, but cutting costs and employing monkeys, you ultimately going to end up with peanuts.
