    Wonderfully caring company

Customer Service (Current Employee) Phoenix, AZ

ProsThe true 'caring' doesn't stop with the employees, who are treated like family. The CUSTOMER is also very much cared for, in a sincere and true way. Every employee seems to be primarily driven by the fact that they want a happy and satisfied customer. If there are situations which are challenging, staff representing sometimes every department quickly huddles to create the best solution possible, with the customer's need being the biggest variable. The ongoing support plan offered is second-to-none with regard to value for the dollars, and includes a block of monthly hours for the flagship software services, and rights to all software upgrades. Services are provided 24/7, 365, and again, the driving force seems to always be the closure of an issue in the quickest manner possible, with a pleased customer at the end. An obvious benefit to this is a highly 'reference-able' customer base, but even THAT doesn't seem to primarily drive the service mentality and core philosophies. The company wants a happy base who uses and exercises the product to its fullest potential, and gets directly involved with the product's future. Nice place to work, particularly when the customers are so nice, too.

ConsThe facility shares a parking lot with a very large and popular 'Lifetime Fitness'. Lifetime's customers are lunatic drivers in and out of the parking lot, focusing it would seem only on getting back to work after their lunchtime workout, and the lot can actually be a dangerous place to maneuver around.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe driven-down philosophies have almost guaranteed the company's historical success. If you find yourselves implementing change and it is in any way inconsistent with those philosophies, think hard about that change. The philosophies have been the key.

Wonderful to work for a company that truly cares for its people

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Phoenix, AZ

ProsYou are afforded flexibility and allowed to use your own creativity in getting the job done without being micro-managed. In most positions you wear many hats- no day is ever the same. Great teamwork in a family atmosphere where the individual is truly respected. And a casual work environment with super benefits.

ConsA/C works REALLY well here so bring a sweater to work, even in the summer.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to do what you’ve done for so long.

    Like a Second Family

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Phoenix, AZ

ProsI enjoy working where I feel like I am a part of a team. Everyone takes the time to assist when and where they are needed, bettering the company. There is very little turnover in employment giving the office environment a family atmosphere, which isn’t surprising since it is a family owned and operated corporation.

ConsAlthough the new office space is a nice upgrade to our previous office, the walls need to be better insulated throughout the office.

Advice to Senior ManagementThank you for treating your employees like human beings instead of the typical “Corporate America.” It’s nice to be known as a person and not just a number. It’s appreciated that you take the time to get to know your employees personally, and that you are open to new, creative ideas to better the company.

Strange culture, takes a lot of effort if you want to assimilate

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Phoenix, AZ

Pros100% company-paid health & dental insurance (where do you find that today?), comfortable working environment, good location, stable company with long history, flexible work schedule

ConsWorking remotely (ie. telecommuting) is forbidden although technology allows for it, dinosaur mentality in a technology environment, strange group of personalities many of whom have never had any other outside work experience, cliquish, immature, no outside socializing.

Advice to Senior ManagementWake up and realize it's 2011, you really don't have to operate like you did in 1980. Renew emphasis on what it takes to keep this company profitable and growing, stop focusing on the fluff. Acknowledge and appreciate your employees (a word of honest praise goes a long way), hold your employees responsible and accountable. This is not a daycare, people.

    Very friendly, rewarding atmosphere.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsIt is obvious as soon as you enter Aspen that this is a very friendly environment. Whether coming in as a new employee, a prospective customer or a current customer everyone is treated in a very welcoming manner. One of the most rewarding things about working at Aspen is being able to meet customers when they come here for training and hearing positive feedback from them on how they have been treated by all departments at Aspen. It makes me proud to be part of this organization. It is truly a testament to Aspen's management team that both employees and customers have been with Aspen for 10-15 years.

ConsThe management at Aspen celebrates every new sale with a breakfast of donuts, muffins or bagels. Plus alot of employees bring in homemade treats. With all of these goodies it makes it difficult to bypass the kitchen and keep control of my weight.

Advice to Senior ManagementAs the saying goes, "If it's not broken - don't fix it." Continue on as you have for the past 24 years.

    Great Company to work for

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat private family owned company, good benefits, financially stable, flexible work schedule, liberal vacation time, growing organization, low turnover, great working environment in a nice area. Many employees have been with the company for over 20 plus years. Almost every former employee who voluntary left the company reapplied at a later time to rejoin the company.

ConsThe facility could use some more covered parking spaces.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work.
