I have been working at Aspiranet full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The work that the agency does with the clients is amazing. The different groups that are offered at the office are really beneficial to the whole family. The atmosphere in the office is awesome. I know I can go to any supervisor and they fully support me. There are a lot of different trainings that we do to keep up to date. The benefits are decent with the option for the company to cover the cost of your medical insurance.

    Cons

The pay could be better for the intensive services that are provided. Some Saturday and evening work at times.

I worked at Aspiranet part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

When the child matches with the program, you do see changes in their behavior

    Cons

Not enough training. Not enough support.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

For new comers with no experience, it's best to start with only one client. And, if available, a client that is higher functioning because it can and will get difficult. Taking on more than you can handle will lead you to burn out very early. Make sure this is a job for you. You can be good at it, but it doesn't mean that you will be happy.

I worked at Aspiranet as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Not too many pros: might be a pro if looking to get licensure as an MSW/MFT, can be flexible depending on requests, potential to move up to some extent

    Cons

Not a good place to go for training (in anything), condescending, very very hypocritical, which is the biggest con about organization. Don't work here if you want to be ordered around without appreciation/if you don't want to be looked down upon

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shouldn't be condescending or hypocritical, all employees should be treated as equals.

I worked at Aspiranet full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Co-workers were very positive and upbeat and work well as a team much of the time. Received lots of interesting training that was useful in the work. Enjoyed the group supervision time to discuss cases with the licensed supervisor.

    Cons

3-4 hour meetings that interfere with meeting with clients. Leadership is poor and more than willing to lie to make themselves look good to their managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do away with the "Productivity" and allow individuals to do their job. Keep the Program Managers out of the group supervision unless the group agrees to have them participate.

    Pros

Working with autistic children is rewarding when you see the positive behavior changes in the child.

    Cons

There are stressful situations, you have to be very patient, understanding, and be able to handle getting hit, spit, and yelled at by the children.

I worked at Aspiranet full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Making a difference in childrens' lives.

    Cons

At sattelite offices you are at the mercy of the District Director, who may or may not, be an ethical or fair person. Their actions are not always known by the top heavy, upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to what your employees are willing to share with you about their experiences. Combine jobs in Human Resources rather than micro-managing.
