    Pros

I love working for Aspire because all of the teammates are focused on the mission and vision. We are preparing students to earn a college degree. As a child of a parent who went to college and one who did not, I have seen first hand how college is a game changer! I have been fortunate to work for Aspire for the past twelve years and been given the opportunity to wear several hats.

    Cons

I don't have anything to complain about! This is a great place to have a career as an educator.

    Pros

Aspire is full of individuals who care about the mission of preparing students in under-served communities for college. I've never worked with so many like-minded colleagues who support me and are invested in my professional well-being. Senior Management has been extremely flexible in helping me with a work-life balance over the last 10 years. Aspire really cares about its employees and cultivates this culture. Overall it is a great place to work.

    Cons

As in many non-profits I think, you end up wearing a variety of hats. It compliments my work style but may not be for everyone. I wish people understood how much Home Office thinks about the entire staff and tries to make decisions with the best interest of our teammates in mind.

    Advice to Management

Continue to work on career pathways and options for your staff.

    Pros

    - Adding 10 additional PTO days because of not wanting employees to burn out - Listen to employee feedback and actually do something about it! - People are compassionate, kind, and nice - People care about the mission than themselves, so everyone is working towards a common goal, and less drama

    Cons

    - Budget is sometimes constrained because of being a non-profit - Princilpals have high-expectations from staff. It's ok as long as it is reasonable, but not ok if they don't see the positives.

    Advice to Management

Senior management is on the right track. Principals are great with a few exceptions. For those exceptions, please appreciate your staff every chance you get!

    Pros

Aspire is great place to work. The work is driven by a strong sense of mission, which aligns to my own, and the workplace culture is wonderful. I respect and trust my colleagues, and I know that they will support me and challenge me. I also feel like I can do the same for them. My boss is focused on employee development, and help challenge me, while still ensuring I feel supported. The organization values people who ask questions, push back, and are also highly competent. It makes for a great team culture.

    Cons

I think it can be easy to worry about letting people down, because there is a strong culture of effectiveness.
