    Pros

Working for Cal Poly in any capacity is a great experience. Great management, great co-workers, thorough training, fair reviews, employee appreciation and a snappy uniform.

    Cons

ASI doesn't furnish it's own video or photo equipment, like the other sectors of Cal Poly do, so the students are required to use their own equipment which doesn't allow for expansion of one's creative development, nor the growth of their marketing department.

    Advice to Management

I would like to see more advertising and involvement to the student body as a whole. The ASI events are mostly attracting the students who live or hang out by the UU. Since the entire student body pays ASI fees it would seem there would be a broader reach for the activities.

  6. Great place to grow.

    Pros

Great environment to learn the ins and outs of working on a team and taking initiative on your own projects. Lots of freedom to try new things and really be creative; great higher ups who listen, and want the best for you.

    Cons

Truly none. Take advantage of the freedom to do what you want.

I worked at Associated Students (Cal Poly) part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Generally pretty flexible with hours, which is good for busy students. Wide variety of job functions. Simple interview process. Management cares about the organization.

    Cons

Appropriate pay for appropriate work is not always demonstrated. Jobs with strikingly large disparities in physical demand and level of difficulty pay within a few cents/hour of each other, so some departments have heavy turnover rates that hamper continuity.

    Advice to Management

Encourage departments to enforce job performance more consistently. Reassess hourly rates based on job duties.

Very political, favoritism, and high turnover
