I worked at Associated Students (Cal Poly) part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The best staff EVER to work with. Seriously, no joke. I feel honored to have had the opportunity to work with such an amazing, smart, caring, and no-nonsense staff. Work-life balance is great, and they really cared about your personal well being.

    Cons

No cons. It was an amazing place to work. Wouldn't change anything.

I have been working at Associated Students (Cal Poly) part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

A job on campus is convenient and works with your class schedule. Also get to work with other students.

    Cons

Other students is also a con... highly drama-filled work environment. Pay the students next to nothing and in the three years I was there I never received a bonus or increase while doing a job that they would have to pay a full-time working professional at the very minimum $40K+.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give the kids a raise once in a while, they are saving you A LOT of money.

great way to meet other people and work with fun staff members.

I have been working at Associated Students (Cal Poly) part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I stayed in San Luis Obispo over summer and got a free gym membership because I worked for ASI. Also, they constantly have luncheons (like Chipotle) and events to get to know each other. It is very easy to plan work around your school work because you get a new schedule every quarter

    Cons

They pay is not high at all and pay raises are not common

Student employees are treated as students first, with the ability to select hours that fit into course loads with flexibility around midterms and other needs.

    Cons
