I have been working at Assumption College full-time

    Pros

The faculty here was exceptional to deal with and the Sodexo supervisors worked well together

    Cons

Working here was a challenge with the different socioeconomic children. Some of temp were respectful but most considered themselves above the maintenance crew.

I have been working at Assumption College part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It is a small school so they take care of each other. You can get tuition remission which is huge!

    Cons

The small Catholic school can sometimes feel like a small Catholic school. There is movement toward making the school more Catholic which hasn't been going over very well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't try to make the school something it isn't

I worked at Assumption College part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Assumption College offers a small community environment that some people can thrive in. There is also always something to do for such a small campus

    Cons

It can become tiring to stay in such a small environment for so long. Sometimes promotions are given based on current sentiment rather than tenure and skills.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Value all employees more equally

I worked at Assumption College as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

Easy going staff to work with creating a family like atmosphere. There are many opportunities to learn a lot in many different aspects of the college.

    Cons

Sometimes can feel as though you are not accomplishing a lot because many projects to work on become repetitive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Build and create new and refreshing projects often.

I worked at Assumption College as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Employees get a reduced cost lunch plan at the dining hall, which has amazing food (was around $5 a meal for me). Not only was the food awesome, but it was also a great place to network with other employees from other departments you might not know otherwise.

    Cons

Parking is always a challenge, but best if you work in the morning before most students arrive. Some of the buildings are old and there can be temperature challenges room to room.

I worked at Assumption College part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Friendly people. It was nice to develop relationships over time. Work was not challenging as a workstudy but sometimes interesting tasks were assigned depending on skills set.

    Cons

Low pay for students. It is minimum wage and they never increase a cent. However, they try to give extra hours if you are good at what you do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please raise the wages for students who have been working for over 2 years in your offices as workstudy.

    I worked at Assumption College

    Pros

    -Opportunity for growth
    -Opportunity for extra work
    -Flexible hours

    Cons

    -Work was cancelled too often

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I really like the way it was run. I thought that the social meetings were helpful. I also thought that the extra pay incentives were very helpful in raising more money, in addition to rewarding the hard workers. One suggestion might be to give extra jobs on nights that calling might be very tough. Overall the job was great and the opportunity for upward mobility exists.
