    Pros

Nice People, process oriented and positive atmosphere. You will grow in technical. I loved the location of the office

    Cons

I do not see any cons as such. Only the thing is they were moving their projects from Java to .net but its company's higher management decision

    Pros

Pension (not offered after 1/1/14), my direct manager, relaxed dressing, telecommute, flex time, daycare

    Cons

Very political environmen; outsourced too much too quickly to India. New EBS leader is abrasive and untrustworthy, too much focus on stock price. Bad behaviors by certain VPs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide training to your staff, invest in their development. Stop making excuses for India team and bring work back. Get rid of VPs who have been there for more than 20 years they are detrimental to good behavior.

    I worked at Assurant

    Pros

Casual, flexible work environment. Very open door with senior level employees. Pay is decent, people are friendly.

    Cons

Departments are treated differently. Some management has been there too long. Systems are old, need updating. Because it's so large, difficult to get things through process change.

    I worked at Assurant

    Pros

The environment has room for growth

    Cons

As typical with any large company, the office politics are extremely high. People will throw others under the bus to look good and get that next promotion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep your word when you have good people and you promise to bring them on as an employee. People have families to feed.

I worked at Assurant full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You are given copious amounts of paid time off, as well as every weekend off and many opportunities to work voluntary overtime

    Cons

Promotions are granted from nepotism, not performance. You can be the top performer in your team every month for years and be passed up for promotion instead for the lowest performer. Also, insurance benefits are a joke,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's a business, not a fraternity. Don't snub your best employees in order to give your buddies better positions.

I worked at Assurant full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay, decent benefits, PTO days from day 1 and possible opportunity to telework.

    Cons

Very limited growth, constant change which enables you from meeting or exceeding on your annual review which ultimately leads to no pay increase. Also little to no training when you are hired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train your new hires, keep an up-to-date procedures manual and promote your talented employees.
