    It's all about politics and who you know

    ProsMost coworkers are very nice to work with. Nice life/work balance. Flexible HR policies.

    ConsWorked there for over 10 years. Poor training & employee growth; once you hit a certain level you reach a "glass ceiling" depending on who you know and whose shoulders you're rubbing, which creates a back-stabbing culture among coworkers with the same goals. You do an adequate job and you get rewarded, you do a good/great job, and you get taxed with more work/responsibility and no promotion.

    Advice to Senior ManagementDon't dangle the "promotion" carrot to your employees, unless you have a clear career advancement path. Don't say the company is not about politics and "circle of friends" when it clearly is.

    ConsVery traditional and Assurant Solutions is very disorganized. There is a restructuring every other day and people spend a lot of time running around in circles.

    End of Year Pay Increases Are A Joke
    Only 1 Annual bonus with company around Christmas Time
    Twice a month Pay Schedule (15th & last day of the month)
    Cafeteria food is Expensive and Gross
    No real chance of ever getting a schedule change... Make sure you are hired with a schedule you can see yourself working for a LONG time

    Advice to Senior ManagementIf you have employees do additional work such as being trained on multiple clients, being cross trained in core/loss drafts, pay them for it! Stop hiring team leads and managers based off popularity!

    The interview and training was not realistic for the actual job.

    ProsThe location was nice and the benefits were decent.

    ConsThe training was not sufficient for the job, they promise support upon release to the floor. Support from team leaders is almost non-existent. My team was actually in the same training class as me and retained less information. The expectations of the clients are not reasonable for the type of calls that come in.

    Advice to Senior ManagementFully train team leaders, managers, and trainers first. I would also suggest a better escalation process for irate customers. Being told they will get a call back in 1 to 2 business when people are on the brink of losing their homes is not right. Also I would suggest explaining the mandatory overtime requirement in the interview instead of just surprising people when they receive their schedule.
